My only concerns are his lack of any political experience whatsoever, along with his very internationalist foreign policy.

The one strength is that the guy obviously knows economics. It'd be nice to have a politcian who understands economics for once.

I still have to ask however, how many of his supporters are voting for him based on a certain racial characteristic... whether we like it or not, voting for a Republican just because of his skin color so you can say "I'm not a racist" is still racism.

Not that I'm accusing anyone on here of that, I'm just saying to be careful as to the reasons why some supporters like him. Also, I've heard it said "maybe we can take some of the black vote from Obama". It won't happen. Look at Michael Steele's 2006 MD Senate results.

I doubt it. Not to many conservative types did that with Obama, did they? I would vote for Cain in a heartbeat- I think he is the most intelligent one on either side. He'll never win, because he is too truthful and to business savvy. Voters today want to hear that they will be taken care of, as opposed to being told that they have to tighten their belts because the government has been mismanaged for too long.

Krauthammer and O'Reilly were saying a couple of nights ago that it's over, barring some major occurrence, that Romney is now a lock. Seemed to me a bit premature with Cain having gained so much momentum so quickly and people perhaps really considering the possibilities of Cain's "bold" tax proposal. Apparently, Romney is leading in Iowa which surprises me. If that's the case, maybe it is over.

Anything that comes out of Washington that will alter this morass of a tax system we have, whether it be a 9-9-9 from Sim City or a bag of 10-10-10 from the fertilizer store, sounds like a plan worth considering to me. Cain called his plan "bold." Steve Forbes got nowhere with his effort several years ago. I'd say any departure from the status quo is bold.

Actually your leaders at this point 4 years ago were Guliani and Thompson and Huckabee.
Romey got detailed when McCain and Huckabee pulled a West Virginia 2 Step to keep him from winning the state.

I think that Herman Cain is the only Republican capable of winning against President Obama. Any other winner will be painted as just another politician by the mainstream media. I think the mainstream media would have a field day with Romney...but with Cain they will have a hard time attacking him.

As far as the Sim City situation, I think that plays into Cain's hand. He can simply say...look, the purpose of Sim City is for people to be able to GROW their cities. The designers of the game had to come up with a system of government that allowed GROWTH. If they used our current system, the game would be over before it started and too complicated for most people to play.

I wouldn't be so sure. It has already started on the left and will quickly filter into the mainstream media as he becomes more and more of a possible candidate. I don't think it will matter who the Republican candidate is, they will be cast in a negative light more than we have ever seen before. They are desperate.

Yeah, there are a lot of 'inside baseball' folks who are wondering how serious he is at running and as a contender for thar very reason. He very well may be trying a whole new method of campaigning, but recent history , see Guliani, shows that's not always successful. Several polls are even showing Romney leading in Iowa. If he wins that, then cue the fat lady...

I think it's clear Romney will take the West and the Northeast. The real question is if the Heartland and the Southeast will united behind a single candidate or splinter off like it did in 08. We'll see. Politics is an art, and despite it's consequences, is fun to watch and examine.

I don't know anyone in the west that likes Romney. In fact he seems pretty much universally disliked except by the Mormons.
