The fact of the matter, the music is probably mostly for the students. So that's why they play what they play. And whether some like it or not, this is what kids listen to these days. And probably worse.
This is what I was countering, jbock. Maybe I misinterpreted you, if so I apologize. But it seemed like you were saying that the students agreed with the music that was played Saturday night, and because the students listen to such music it makes it acceptable. I disagree with that logic as I mentioned in my previous post.
I do not have a problem with secular music that does not run counter to the mission of Liberty University. I agree Liberty 22, there are good secular songs that can be played at sporting events. However, some of the songs that were played had questionable lyrics. I was just trying to point that out. (I would have mentioned something about the lyrics whether you mentioned it or not, Sly. It is an issue that needs to be addressed.)
By playing Christian music, Liberty would not be infringing what we believe on others. After all, Liberty is a Christian university. People should be aware of that before they step on campus.
Liberty22, I was just extending jbock's logic to other areas. I know that listening to non Christian music is different than sex, alcohol, and drugs. However, even in music there is a line that must be drawn.
TTL, the connotations of Tonight, Tonight relate to partying and drinking. How else would you not know how you got a tattoo? The vibe of the song is it doesn't matter let's just party. I do not agree with this mindset.

Rooster, right on. Many parents and children that attend the games would not even consider listening to songs like Tonight, Tonight on the radio. Why should they be subjected to it at a Christian university football game?
P.S. What's up with all the ad hominems? Who said anything about the Gaithers?
