After tonight, maybe we should get rid of the red pants.

Blue helmet would have capped it off for me. Or we get one of those Nike edgy helmets that look like bird feathers or something...lol, that would be pretty 'elite'

The all red with the white helmet looked terrible in my opinion. We've worn three different combinations this year that just don't look like Liberty football to me. We seem to be worrying about being cats with our uniforms. Let's get back to being dogs and stop worrying about how we look or changing things up.

okay coach bennet...

i thought they looked great. we probably wont see it again for awhile. i think they might be a one off thing like the black jerseys last year against stony brook.

That's what I'm saying. We're doing too much for these big games. Are we going to have a new uniform every big game?

For four years under Coach Rocco it was:

Home - blue helmet, blue jersey, blue pants

Home alt (big game or homecoming) - blue helmet, red jersey, white pants

Away - blue helmet, white jersey, white pants

That's who we were. We always said we were a traditional team under a traditional coach. We had established ourselves as that. Now it feels like we're gimmicky.

I enjoy the old school tactics in football....like how recently the Cowboys wouldnt allow the team to have a star on the helmet because they did not "deserve" them. Maybe we should stick with the standard issue uni and when DR feels like they're ready...give them a "star"

Or maybe we need to not worry about making T-shirts and jersey changes and stupid slogans and marketing ploys and worrying about all this "hype"...

and practice tackling, and winning your matchup on the line of scrimmage.

Because it's not sexy!
I say we put all the uniforms in the wash at the same time and wear what comes out!

Not saying we should do that. actually, the more i think about it, the less i think we should be thinking about or worrying what we look like. who cares? do uniforms win games? to uniforms make stupid penalties?

I hate, loathe, can't stand, abhor all WHITE and wish they didn't have to wear them. I love the all red with white helmets, I don't know why but I really liked it.

Liberty is a 40 year old school that despite the past 4-5 recent years of success are still currently under .500 overall as a program and are 115-115 in FCS/I-AA... We don't really have a great football tradition. IMO, LU is trying to pull an Oregon on a MUCH smaller-scale. New jerseys and new uniform combinations show recruits that LU likes to spend a lot money on football and that we take football seriously. While I wish we went with blue helmets last night, I liked the all red look, and I can imagine recruits liking the look too.

That massive structure behind them on the sidelines can also say these things

Actually we are literally right at .500 (199-199-4)

According to cfbdatawarehouse.com, we were 198-198-4 entering this year. After last night's game LU is 1-2 on the season so that would make us 199-200-4

The problem with this is we spent four years under Rocco trying to build something, trying to build a brand, trying to build an identity and no we've completely abandoned it. We were a traditional, tough, hard nosed football team. Now we're a finesse team that's shiny and pretty. Yes, I'm looking into uniforms a lot by saying that but it reflects the nature of the team now.

I can see what you're getting at with that. I think the style started changing last year. Once Aldreakis left the team, LU didn't have a bruiser type back and started going more spread to compensate for the lack of a quality powerback. Also, the recruiting of guys like Gabe Henderson and Tracy Curry (Although he never played a down) showed me at least that Rocco wants to use the spread even after Mike Brown graduates. It's interesting to see how these next couple years will be in regards to the offense. I hope we'll be reloading instead of rebuilding...
