I didnt fail math in school Chippy, Im just saying that if youre gonna put so much focus on the fact that we had 8 turnovers in two games, you ought to bear in mind that the vast majority of them came in 1 game...with your statement you didnt indicate that.

Some of these scores seem pretty high for both teams. Remember last year LU scored a FG with (what I think) is about the same offense as this year and JMU's defense is better (allegedly - I'm not sure about that). On JMU's side of the ball, we only scored 10 last year and our offense hopes to be a little better, but hasn't real shown it so far. Your D is missing Chapman, but seems to still be chugging pretty good.

So, I'm not sure what I'm going to do for a score prediction (right now, I'm sadly leaning towards a close win by LU) but anything over 30 combined would really surprise me.

I agree on all points, JMUDukeDawg. But at the same time, anytime it appears to be such an obvious low-scoring affair we tend to get thrown on our ears with a shootout. The unpredictability is what makes college football so much fun.

For the past two seasons, I didn't know where all the confidence was coming from. There was no way you were going to win.

This year is the year I don't think you all are crazy. :) Brown and Summers are scary and this is their last shot at this.

We thought our offense was in a two year slump with an ineffective Drew Dudzik under center. It's looking more and more that there are deeper systemic problems that aren't going to be solved by bringing in new blood in the offensive skill positions. I'll be impressed if we score 21 against you.

I do think our Defense will slow you guys down...for at least 3 quarters; but once we tire from being on the field the whole game, you'll pull away. Last year, in our 6-5 season, we were tied or had the lead in the fourth quarter in NINE(!!) of our games. That tells you our defense has been effective, but fatigue catches up with us in the end with no offense to keep the D off the field.

So, anyway....

JMU 10
Liberty 17

On another note...I was at the game two years ago in the monsoon and had a blast. I actually went to high school in Lynchburg, so I still have many friends there. My wife really wanted a season off from going to too many road games, so I won't be making it this year, but I know it'll be fun!

Good luck!

I am planning on being at this game and I am looking forward to being there and hoping for good weather. I think that we can get this monkey off our back but it won't be that easy as JMU will be pumped. A little concerned about our running game but maybe we can get our act together this Saturday.

By the way is there any tailgating action taking place that I can join in? Last time I was there 2 years ago their was a big tent set up for alumni and Flames Club members and I am not sure if there is something like that going on this time. The food was great and cheap too. I remember seeing To the Left and a few others as that frequent this board and it was a good time despite the rain and us losing. I will be getting there early on Saturday and spending the day just hanging out.

Steve, the alumni tent is over on the other side of the stadium from where it was 2 years ago. It's over by David's Place. But yes there will be tailgating going on there. The Flames Club is tent is, I believe, inside Williams Stadium this year. Just inside the gate.

24-17 LU over the bad guys, in front of 21,511. It will be 14-14 at halftime.

I really want us to score 21+ every week, just because of the NC State fan who was moaning about their game against us and said "Who lets Liberty score 21 points?!!"
