09/17 - 7:00 PM - James Madison Last time these two teams played in Lynchburg was probably one of the wettest games in recent memory save the St Pauls game in 2006. These two teams have played close games in both previous meetings and more of the same is expected here. JMU has given the Flames their only other home loss in the last three seasons (the other being Lafayette in 2008). I'll call an LU win here and in light of the Dukes struggles on offense I think we wear the defense down and pull away LU 31 JMU 13

No way the LU offense blows this one open too much. It will be a defensive minded game. We are the better team without a doubt, but will we actually prove it on the field? We shall wait and see.

JMU will be up for this game just as much as LU will be IMHO. I think this game will be a make or break one for JMU. I would love to wrong and see us win though haha I just want to keep my expectations low for this season so I don't fall into the trap of false hype like the last 3 years.

I really do want us to beat JMU, but a couple of things are going against us.

#1. JMU got a scare this week, while, even though our offense didn't play great, we really didn't get a scare...it's more motivating to have that scare prior to the big game.

#2. JMU will be more prepared for us after the close game last year.

#3. We'll put too much pressure on ourselves to win this thing.

In reality, all of the pressure should be on JMU. They're ranked above us, they play in a tougher conference, they should be the ones expected to win.

Our offense just needs to go out there and play like they're playing against NC State...like they've got nothing to lose.

Also, our defense has to figure out how to defend that short curl...it seemed like they adjusted to it from RMU with about 5 minutes left in the first half.

we suck, and we don't value the football.
I like this guy already, even if he does wear PURPLE.

- LU will shut down JMU's struggling offense and give Mike and the offensive more than enough opportunities to score 24+.

20,500 fans - lots of local fans and local rivalry.
