CCU released their schedule today, so LU is the last one left in the Big South to have a schedule released. Hopefully the Coaches vs. Cancer people figure it out sometime before the season actually starts.

I can't figure out what the hold-up could be. They have to know all the teams that are participating by now, right? It would be really tough to fill a spot at this point with a large % of teams already having schedules released.

Yeah, W&M is in our pod in Lynchburg for the coaches vs. cancer. We're already scheduled to go to Williamsburg and play them. So, we could play them twice this year.

I believe I saw where every team was guaranteed three games in the 2k event. The four hosts teams would have a home game before heading to Madison Square Garden for the championship rounds. So my understanding is that we will have at least one game at a host site whether it be against the host or another team. My friends up in Aggieland have indicated it may be the Flames coming on 11/9 for their one unannounced home game for the event.

The current trend is to push the return game back a year to help balance road/home schedules...so I'm guessing that's the case here (Winthrop has done that with its last two BracketBuster opponents)...

When you do the return game in the following season, you run into this problem:

Year 1 - Home BracketBuster
Year 2 - Road return game, Road Bracketbuster
Year 3 - Home return game, Home Bracketbuster
Etc.

Under the 'wait a year' scenario:
Year 1 - Home Bracketbuster
Year 2 - Road Bracketbuster
Year 3 - Road return game (from Yr1), Home Bracketbuster
Year 4 - Home return game (from Yr2), Road Bracketbuster
Etc.

I think coaches/programs like having the better road/home balance...

FWIW, G-W pushed back the game we get here with Tennessee Tech from last year's bracketbuster to next season, so it is not uncommon.

Interesting we only play LU one time, but we also play PC just one time, here in the season finale, and they are only an hour or so away....at least with LU you could use travel as reasoning, but PC?

Can't be at VMI because it says 2PM for us, VMI plays Presby at 1PM.

I wouldn't think they can play a game early in the day, then set up for winterjam, but maybe that's the plan?

I REALLY needed some good news to come out of Lynchburg. I literally let out a loud "Yes!" when I saw the release sitting at Sly Jr's TKD practice.

I've had the date saved on calendar in pencil for months. It feels awesome to lock it in. This gives me time to try and recruit alumni to join my family at Reed Arena. This past year we had a big crowd from HCYA come up for the womens game.
