Time for Antwan Burrus to step up and be the player we know he can be at the PF position. We will also need more from our new bigs than we thought we would before today.

I wouldn't be too hopeful about JB getting a 6th year, especially since I'm pretty sure his first redshirt year was non-medical.

Wasn't it just a few months ago that almost everyone on here was bashing him for obscure reasons? I remember many of you said he's the only reason we lost the High Point game.

We'll seriously miss his inside presence and rebounding ability. Quite frankily, I think its irreplacable.

Seem to remember someone posting on here that John had already graduated so you have to wonder if he will even have the desire to stay around for two more years as there will be alot of intense rehab work ahead. This really stinks for him personally, not only for his senior year, but it makes any future plans/possibility of playing after college (overseas) that much tougher.

Plus, wasn't he kind of on the fence about playing this year anyway? I think he already has his diploma. Or was that something that we made up

He's already graduated so it wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't stay in school unless he just really wants to do a year of graduate school work.

What I have heard is that he is going to stay in school and finish up graduate school. Why not? They are paying for it.

I hear he is in surgery right now and will be kept overnight. I'm offering up a prayer for him right now from Houston.

Youll see folks with boots and braces if they stepped off a curb wrong skywalker (at least as I understand things) as a precaution. I wouldnt go all Defcon5 just yet

I've seen athletes walk around in boots all the time and still play. Heck, I know a former women's soccer player that was in a boot for an entire season yet played in every single game.

That sucks about John Brown. I've always had a high appreciation for guards who can rebound like a power forward or center, those types of players are a rare breed and generally aren't replaced.

Great article about JB in today's paper.
Brown is LU's non-playing captain

Dressed in slacks, a shirt and a tie, John Brown looks like a coach on the sideline these days. He’ll get up from his seat behind the assistant coaches and shout encouragement every once in a while, barking out defensive instructions to teammates who still struggle to pick up their assignments.

This is not where Brown wants to be. He masks it well. The vibrant smile is still there, the positive attitude, the willingness to do anything to help a teammate. But as Liberty falters again down the stretch — this time against Presbyterian College on Monday at the Vines Center — Brown slinks back into his seat. He’s absolutely miserable.

"It’s the sickest feeling in the world, it really is," Brown said after Thursday’s Flames practice at the Schilling Center. "I’ve cried about it sometimes. I can’t put into words how sick it makes me feel. I see my guys struggling, I know I can get out there and help."

Brown catches himself, before saying:

"Well, not physically. If I was out there, it might be a little different."

I'm assuming Brown will get a medical redshirt and play next year. Is that correct, or do we not have an answer on it yet?

That's too bad. His experience and leadership would really help the new PG next year.
