Im thankful to be a witness to what the Lord has been doing at and because of Liberty Chancellor...to see the expansion of the football stadium, the creation of East campus, the new theater, Thomas Road coming to the mountain, its been mind blowing. I dont know how much longer I'll be on the mountain but I look forward to all that the Lord will do even in the next few years.

Awesome, I love Liberty.

Side note, I do hope they keep the name Worthington Stadium though, or at the very least Worthington Field. After all that man did for the program, it's only right.

I agree. The Worthington name should remain.

Al Worthington Field does have a nice sound to it...but keeping Worthington Stadium would be just as if not more awesome

I might give you a job or something
In which case, this quote takes on a whole new meaning:

Let the record show, I kept my mouth shut.

I've been offline with no connectivity for most of the past week on vacation and I am excited to hear the details coming out. Count me among those that hopes Coach Worthington remains honored in some fashion at the new ballpark.

And BYD, normally I am not a proponent of the lottery. But in this case, I'll make an exception.

It just leaves me more questions than answers though. Even though I agree with parking garages don't really help.

Oh well, I'll be graduated before all these things happen anyway.

Personally, I was happy with the way things were before. David's Place to North (or Demoss) wasn't that big of a walk. Now, I have no choice of parking in David's Place (or Bailey) and taking the extra walk to DeMoss (when there are no spots left in Speakman. Now I must drive all the way to Doc's. What about the public who comes to Doc's? They will have anyplace to park?

Not being critical, just getting a few things out there that could be improved upon. I'm sure Chancellor Falwell has much better ideas in mind than I.

Other universities locate parking garages away from the central areas of their campuses for this reason. To put it simply, our parking habits must change.
I agree that our parking habits must change. But we also need those "parking garages away from the central areas" of our campus. I was really excited about the new baseball stadium until I saw how many cars are parked there now during the week.

I've heard a rumor that there may be some sort of announcement tomorrow at convo. Hopefully it is parking garages. Multiple ones.

My only concern is the statement "our parking habits must change". What does that mean? I mean, I can't just hop a ride to school with how far I live away!

As I agree with alabama, I'm looking forward to some clarification tomorrow.

Bus routes from apartment complexes, local shopping centers, park-and-ride programs, etc.

This is what he means in "parking habits must change". What part of "primarily pedestrian campus" do you guys not get? Before long very few, if any students will be parking on campus.

Dont ever say I dont tell you guys anything before it's announced.

Just so you get your bearings....Snowflex is off the picture to the left. As you can see there are shuttle systems, commuter cars and other means of transportation. All you guys just need to relax!

The people must change the way they park quote is pure gold. At WVU almost all of us park at the coliseum for free and take the PRT (WVU's subway type thing) or buses to the downtown campus, health science campus, etc. You literally can't park downtown unless you want to pay for a spot in a private lot. There's no reason that students at LU can't do the same thing at the mall. It would be an adjustment at first, but in a short time it would make parking on everyone a ton easier. Plus they wouldn't have to pay for a parking pass.

So we're turning into DC? I mean, the traffic is minimal up there with the carpools, buses, and metros, right? :)

I know I'm probably being selfish, I admit it. But I don't even know where the apartments are, let alone have to waste extra time getting there when 460 takes me straight from my home to campus!

I don't mind at all walking far to get to my classes. What I do mind is spending another hour commuting to my car to commute to my house (which would make my trips 90 minutes each way instead of the 45 it is now), not to mention many 10 hour days I have.

I realize I'm an exception, but this is time I cannot afford to waste in studying my core subjects.
