Were they expensive?

Given to me. I'm not sure the face value yet.

Just don't let NC State get a hold of them. That's all that matters.

I wouldn't get my hope up for Asa playing on 9/3.

The objective is to take the King, not all the pawns...
LU has a real shot at winning it all this year and post season play, but they need Asa.
Sounds like NCS line is also hurting, so maybe even without Asa they could at least hold them and turn the offense loose. Remember you don't have to stop the other team, just score more than they do. And, wouldn't a win without Asa be sweet... I know.. but our offense is good.
Also, I would tryout some backups now in game conditions, because (knock on wood) with knee injuries you never know.
Tough decision... A big win over NCS and risk Asa getting hurt or let Asa rest and go for #5 and playoffs. Tempting as it is, I would rest Asa, and ask the team to step up.
NCS will be forgotten soon enough.
A #5 would go in the record books and keep LU moving up the ladder.

We never mail road game tickets, simply because we're responsible for them if we lose them (we can't always get reprints made by the visiting institution).

We'll send out an email the week of the game with information regarding ticket pick up and the location of will call. For those in the Lynchburg area, we will have ticket pick up the week of the game at the Vines Center ticket office, usually the Tuesday and Wednesday before. But, all that will be included in the email as well.

Give us a call on Monday and let one of our ticket agents know you want to authorize him to pick up your tickets. We'll write a comment in your transaction that authorizes him to pick those up. Just have him remind the person at the window that he is authorized when he comes to pick them up the week of the game. We will probably still ask him to confirm your address for security purposes. Once he picks them up though, he's responsible for the tickets :)

I've already hit on quarterback Mike Brown, who returns to school as one of the best players at the I-AA level and a mortal lock for Big South POY. Brown threw the ball 351 times and carried it 160 times last season and somehow managed not to shatter into a thousand pieces in the process. While he did just about everything for that team, he did have some help along the way. Here are some other players to watch come September 3rd:

Wide receiver Chris Summers, Holloway, and Asa Chapman

Liberty has several kids who signed with I-A programs but left for one reason or another (a former 4-star safety just transferred in from Georgia Tech, for example)

Week 1: vs. Liberty. I had a dream about this game not too long ago: we will win 47-20. I have seen it and so it must be. Liberty's offense will struggle against NC State's first-team offense because the Flames are breaking in four new offensive linemen, and while they have some good skill players, they tend to be negated by ineffectiveness in the trenches.

The Flames will finally get a couple of touchdowns in garbage time against a reserve-heavy Wolfpack defense. But by this point most of us will be back in pre-game form, and by that I mean we'll be walking around the parking lots in a daze, grinning stupidly at each other as we trade obvious remarks like "can't believe football is back!" and "football!" and "yeah!"

I hope we destroy Liberty though. I'll be at that game with a Liberty alum who thinks their school is hot crap in football. Looking forward to bringing them their FBS reality check!

If we can get healthy I believe the stars might be lining up just right for an upset. They're replacing key players and this will be their first game. They have injuries at two important positions. Liberty should be going into a peak season with a lot of experience at the right spots.

I say Matt Bevins kicks a 49 yard'er to win it with under a minute to play!!

I'm right there with you. Have been all summer especially once Wilson decided he was leaving. We need to be at 100% though.

We're not the only ones having injury issues in camp ...
Raleigh (NC) News & Observer wrote:Pack lineman Christophe out 3-4 weeks

BY J.P. GIGLIO - STAFF WRITER

A knee injury might keep N.C. State offensive lineman Duran Christophe out as long as four weeks, including the Sept. 3 opener against Liberty, Wolfpack coach Tom O'Brien said Thursday.

Christophe suffered a meniscus tear and underwent surgery on Wednesday. The redshirt sophomore started for the Wolfpack in its Champs Sports Bowl win over West Virginia last season and had been working as the starting left guard in training camp.

Here's a look at the Flames from a NCSU Blogger's perspective ...

Nickname: Flames

Stadium: Williams Stadium (capacity 19,200) … school has set attendance records for four consecutive seasons … stadium expansion plans will increase capacity to 30,000 by 2015.
And here is how he sums it up ...
Prediction: Liberty might hang around for a bit early, but the Pack should win this one easily. A final scoring margin of anything closer than 4 TDs would be an upset and would raise some red flags heading into the Week 2 matchup at Wake Forest.

I'm fully expecting an upset based on his definition.
