Most everyone on here is hoping Grant can step right in so we are right along with ya on that one my friend...and Grant isnt quite 340...he was listed at 305 on signing day and has been lifting all summer...Id give him 320 or thereabouts when the roster comes out officially in a week or so...the only guy who is anywhere near 340 would be ASA and he is closer to 370-380

ok... they managed to work in Tinky-Winky and the creation/evolution debate. Original.

otherwise, not overly hilarious.

I wonder the same thing. Probably until most of that generation dies off. So, another 20 yrs or so.

90% of current LU donors are from "that generation" let's hope they continue to support this great University and all that it stands for ... for at least 20 more years! :D

I agree. I didn't mean it in the instance that I can't wait for "that generation" to die off. I'm just saying it will probably be 20 or 30 years until Jerry Falwell references fade away.

Okay, who posted under the name "Liberty Fan?"

I only ask because you said that your sister taught at Atlantic Shores and you mentioned Kenny and Damon. I graduated from ASCS in '97 and had more fun than I should have been allowed to have watching those two guys play high school ball.

Damon at NCSU... poor video quality, but this is the kind of thing he did pretty much every game in high school.

I hope what it stands for in 20 years is what it stood for to "that generation".

  Us old geeks on here really looked up to the Doc! He was bold! But I actually understand where you're coming from .... it's a new era .... same message ..... new delivery! LU is in good hands!

01LUGrad those games between Atlantic Shores and Oak Hill were awesome. Did you know a kid at AS named Josh Milam? He was my buddies son, played football there.

When Liberty moves up, we won't lose talent like Kenny and Damon to NC State anymore, they'll be going to LU!

Just found out I'll be attending a family wedding in the Rio Grande Valley during the game. I hope I have decent signal from Verizon during the service & reception.

This branch of the family is far enough removed that they haven't been enlightened yet. Perhaps it is living just a stones throw from Mexico. I'll work on it.

If those commits don't make you want to win ,,, nothing will.
I'm sitting at a conference in Portland at a table with the grandmother of NC State center Camden Wentz #53. She laughed when I told her Liberty's playing at NC State Sept 3. Then I found out she is also the wife of an outspoken critic of the late Falwell and of LU. (This is an education conference and most attendees are radical liberals.) For her and her hubby, stomping us on the field will serve to embarrass an institution they don't consider to be legitimate academically. I didn't care too much about this game until now. LET'S TRAMPLE HER SWEET GRANDBABY #53 AND SHOW 'EM WE GOT CRED!

The next time you talk to grandma, tell her that LU had already gone head-to-head academically with NC State in Quiz Bowl last year. LU played them 4 times, and we were 4-0 against NC State.

1. LU 230, NC State 100
2. LU 200, NC State 25
3. LU 115, NC State 25
4. LU 55, NC State 20
(and LU also beat Duke, 255-120)

I love it! It probably killed her to find out LU has earned the right to compete at this level. OMGoodness, wouldn't it be sweet to upset them! I tell you what guys, I have a good feeling about this one! I had the same good feeling about the App State - Michigan game in 07, here's the prof! A link to a post I made on another site before the game.

Thanks for the info, Cider! I'll make sure I slip it into the conversation with granny somehow. (That quiz bowl team must have a great coach!)
