That's a total of 15 with a limit of 13. So we're obviously losing at least one and maybe more returnees.

My speculation is that Carter is probably one and then Id go with either Jeremy or Asaad. That is me speculating though...at the end of the day the guy who makes the decision is Coach Layer and whatever he decides Im behind him.

It has been posted here before that Carter is on schedule to graduate this Spring. I'm seriously doubting he will be hanging around here to ride the pine as a grad student. I wonder if his dad's alma matre has a master's program he would be interested in? The other strong possibility is a player who it would appear got a scholarship for this year soley because the guy we originally signed didn't qualify. I'm pretty sure he knew coming in that he would have to prove he could contribute if he wanted to have a schollie for more than one year. Anybody think he did?

I think Asaad would be the first one gone. Carter the 2nd. JA the 3rd.

Any other unexpected transfers could happen though, as we all know.

Sounds about right to me. I'm pretty sure as far as JA is concerned, it will be his call. Layer obviously has a lot of respect for his basketball knowledge and leadership. I really look for him to be offered a graduate assistant position.

Chene could go too since we are recruiting 19 point guards... Or maybe that's just my preference.

I'm liking our freshman A LOT. Should be a really solid team. Good balance in the size of our Soph. too.

Let's hope he does. He helps the collective GPA, graduation rate, etc.

He's the only one I wasn't sure on. If he doesn't come back then we have an open scholly.

Basketball had a perfect APR this past season.

and he was on the team. I'm not talking about the APR though. Sure we could just simply get by and not lose scholarships by doing the minimum required of us. But why not give 1 year scholarships to a seniors with 4.0s who might not play instead of to kids who won't play that you're just taking a flyer on and there's a 90% chance they're DII next year? It adds prestige, leadership, etc.

I think it was mentioned somewhere that he is walking on...my guess is that these are all the scholarship players on the roster

The roster is now posted:

http://www.libertyflames.com/index.cfm? ... 1&TeamID=6

Some of the "vital statistics" are interesting. Sommy and JVP have beefed up to 230 and Antwan has slimmed down to 220. Good move for him IMHO. He looked too heavy last year. Andrew Smith is apparently a growing boy, and is now listed at 6'9" and 220. If he is as athletic as reported, that is an impressive combination for a frosh. For those who have been asking "where's the beef" here for years, we now have 6 players listed at 220 or higher.
