I'm not sure what he said about this kid, but sometime between Nov. 11 and 18 when Steven Baird signs, I've got a delicous crow dinner waiting for him.

Kevin Noreen, a 6-foot-10 forward from Minnesota Transitions who received a release from his letter of intent with Boston College Tuesday, attracted a big crowd at a workout at his high school Wednesday, reports ESPN.com contributor Chris Monter.

Noreen, who was named Minnesota's Mr. Basketball and was the Gatorade Player of the Year, had Providence head coach Keno Davis and assistant coach Chris Davis, Indiana head coach Tom Crean, Boston College head coach Steve Donahue and assistants from Lehigh, California, Texas and Washington State in attendance.

Minnesota head coach Tubby Smith, Iowa State head coach Greg McDermott and assistant coaches from Northwestern and Oklahoma were in town Tuesday.

Noreen will visit Marquette this weekend and could make other visits before making his decision.

Noreen signed with the Eagles in the early signing period. However, Boston College head coach Al Skinner was fired after the season.

Noreen led the Wolves to a Class A state title with a 61-52 over Sebakia as he finished with 24 points, 15 rebounds, four assists and nine blocked shots, despite suffering what was later revealed to be a ruptured spleen. He averaged 36.5 points, 14.8 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 3.6 steals and 2.9 blocked shots per game and became the state?s all-time leading scorer.
Noreen is back in play after his release from BC...however, judging from that list of schools that were in-town visiting his workout, I'm going to say we don't have much of a shot.

That's interesting, but I wonder if Liberty is still in contact with him. I'll get excited when I hear that he is in Lynchburg and Coach Layer "just grabbed some fruit and is sipping on a coffee."

Didn't we have a completely different staff in May of '09? I can't remember when that whole change occurred.

I just reviewed the threads yesterday and one year ago (April 09) Layer was the coach.

Kyle Noreen, a 6-foot-6 guard and Mr. Basketball finalist from Minnesota Transitions, has signed to play at Division I Radford (Va.) University of the Big South Conference.

Kyle's 6-11 older brother, Kevin, who was Mr. Basketball Minnesota in 2010 at Transitions, is a sophomore at West Virginia. Andre Ingram, another Transitions grad, has signed with the Gophers.

"Not bad for a Minnesota Class A school," Transitions coach John Sherman said.

Radford coach Mike Jones was an assistant for Final Four team Virginia Commonwealth last season.

I don't think you have anything to be laughing about when discussing your bball program.

I can, however, laugh at a lot of things. Where should I start? 2-16 conference record? 5-24 overall record? The joke that is Brad Greenburg?

I'm sorry that missing out on Noreen has upset you so much. Crybaby

Did we even offer him? I can't find anything that says we did.

We were looking at him but you have to think that even if we wanted to offer him at the time, we probably wouldnt have had the scholarship to spare to bring him in (as Im reading it from some posts Im reading from last April)
