Cider Jim wrote: Fig, there is a pre-class assigment. You'll need to research the following terms/initials:
1.Curse of Morgan Hout
2. RD
3. MR
4. KK (extra credit if you get all 3 KKs)
5. E-T-S-U
6. History of HC candidates at PC
7. original LBC school colors
I definitely missed 3 and 6, but I think I got extra credit on 4. That would give me a score of 86%, a "B." Am I right, Sensei Cider? (Also, you should consider giving me additional extra credit for reading the entire Liberty Couples thread!) BRING IT ON, BEEJ! I'M READY FOR YOUR PRE-COURSE ASSIGNMENTS!
1. Morgan Hout was head football coach at Liberty 1984-1988. His only winning year was his last. The curse is said to have begun in 1985 when the last two games were forfeited because all the equipment was washed away by the flooding of Treasure Island. The curse may also have caused Dr. Falwell to retain subsequent coaches longer than he might normally have done because he didn’t want to appear trigger happy with his coaches after having released Hout as he did.
2. It’s been said that “no other name on this board can ignite a fire like RD,” RANDY DUNTON. He was interim head men’s basketball coach 1997-1998 at which time his team defeated UVa, his claim to fame. He was invited back in 2002. In 2004 his team won Big South championship and an NCAA tournament. Subsequent years were not as successful, so his contract was not renewed in 2007.
3. I have no clue to whom or what MR refers.
4. Kyle B. Kallander has been the commissioner of the Big South Conference for over 15 years. Poor guy doesn’t seem to be thought of very highly on FF. He is seen as not being proactive, not being the “sharpest knife in the drawer,” never making any sense, being a joke, etc. (One of the other KKs is Kevin Keys, Associate Athletics Director for External Operations. I have no clue who the other KK is.)
5. The ETSU dunk was when Tim Scarborough (better known as SCAR) dunked the ball against East Tennessee State University.
6. I believe PC refers to Presbyterian College, but I’m lost as to what HC Candidates are. Sorry

7. Green and gold were the original LBC school colors!
