uh, no. no there wasnt. I live here and listen to sports radio 8 hrs a day.

he was persona non grata years ago.

Steal of the draft will be Locker... The guy can play and is better than all the other QBs - just had a bad year with a real bad team. He's going to be a good player.
I agree. Locker will be the best QB from this draft in 5-6 years. He was easily in the same convo with Sam Bradford a year ago - this year's UW team was baaaaad.

That's what kills me. Last year, he would have been the top pick and this year 2nd round? People could see him scrambling for his life this year. He has all the tools... Love to see him back up Rogers in GB and take over in 2-3 years - same story, different characters - that would be a great story.

I would hope that Aaron Rogers has more than 2-3 years left. It would make no sense for Green Bay to take a QB with a high pick.

My sources tell me Cam Jordan or Julio Jones.

I think I may post exclusively in italics. Adds a sense of importance and urgency to all the drivel I post.

Im reading a lot of info that has Cam Newton likely being the Panthers' choice at #1...I really dont think that he should go there unless they think he has a chance to be their franchise QB in a year or two...with the guys they have there already (who frankly arent good...) there is going to be even more upheaval and I wouldnt be surprised to see the Panthers right back at or near the top of the board again next year

In which case they can take Andrew Luck, right? They don't seem to have any hesitations drafting quarterbacks year after year.

Not really sure what to make of the Redskins trading that pick. But if we don't draft a QB, (which would not surprise me at all if we didn't), you can throw this season down the drain...

Kerrigan is a good pickup...he can play end or OLB in their defense and wont raise a bunch of heck (Id hope) like Albert Haynesworth did off the field. There are a couple of the top QBs still left...I dont know if Andy Dalton will drop all the way to them in R2. Mallett and Kaepernick are also available. I do think that Ponder was a reach for the Vikings. you have three QBs, two of which did not do too terribly well last year.

This completely baffles me, and it never fails to happen, year after year. At least one team will give up picks to trade UP to select a guy that nobody else is going to take, and could probably get with their next pick. This year I think that was the Browns. They did amazing by trading their #6 pick to Atlanta, but then they traded up six spots with the Chiefs so select a lineman that no one was talking about. The guy would have been there if they had stayed put at 27, probably would still be there when they pick 5th in the second round.

Like I said, this happens every year and it makes no sense. Sometimes I think these upper management-types do not work well under pressure, panic, and make irrational decisions.

Not necessarily. Rex Grossman would be more productive this season than any QB in this years draft. Any of these guys would have sat a year.

Question: Given the Redskins defensive performance last year, their current-roster personnel, and the first-round pick they just made....could the Redskins decide to go back to the 4-3 this year? Keep Haynesworth and re-sign Andre Carter, it would be their best option in my opinion.

Back to the draft. I am one of those unfortunate ones who doesn't have the NFL Network, so I was forced to watch the draft on ESPN. It was awful. Chris Berman should have been let go a LONG time ago, he is virtually unwatchable. Same with Chris Mortenson, he can hardly string three words together without getting confused. And I can tolerate Mel Kiper, but he won't talk unless someone specifically asks him a question, so there were all these awkward moments of silence. The only redeeming factor in their coverage is Jon Gruden, who I love, and Adam Shefter. Seems they went with a skeleton crew this year (and no, I'm not talking about John Clayton, you guys are just mean). But thank God, Trey Wingo was not anywhere near a camera, I really can't stand him.

I agree with you on Gruden. Yhey should have just set up a desk and let him talk. His analysis was spot on.

Agree about Berman, he is like a rash that will not leave.

I agree. I cannot and will not watch Chris Berman. I watched the NFL Network coverage of the draft instead because of him.

My favorite is the "Swami" crap. Whatever team he picks, take your money, run to Vegas and take the other team. You'll be a rich man.

Im happy with the Pettis pick for the Rams...WR is something I said was a definite need and now you have three young WRs in Amendola, Gilyard and now Pettis who can give Bradford some good targets...if they can stay healthy I think this could be a very good unit in 2011

So it's official, the Grossman era continues...

Seriously considering becoming a Lions fan.

Well the players are locked back out as of yesterday so there wont be the spate of free agent signings that we are used to in the hours following the last pick of the draft...

jbock...some fan you are...just because your team doesnt do what you want them to you debate changing? Ive only become a fan of a different team once and that was back when the Rams debuted the "Greatest Show on Turf" (up til that point I had been a Panthers fan).

Isn't becoming a bandwagon fan worse than switching from one frustrating franchise to another?

Sch14- It can be...I didnt have a favorite team for a while (never been a Redskins fan even though they are the closest NFL franchise to my hometown), I became a fan of the Rams largely because I had seen Kurt Warner when he played for the Iowa Barnstormers of the Arena Football League and stuck with them ever since...everyone starts as a bandwagon fan at some point or another...
