Has anyone else been to see it at the Tower Theater? I must admit I'm a really big fan of Phantom and have seen it "off broadway" a few times and at the Kennedy Center etc etc (I needed to be cultured :) ) Anyways, I went tonight expecting to see a "Lynchburg Fine Arts" show (I've been in them, it's fair for me to say there have been some that are not good at all...me being in them prob played a part lol...but anyways).

I'm not kidding when I say this was just as good as the off broadway shows. I thought maybe I was looking through tainted glasses and then I spoke to a local businessman that has seen Phantom in London, New York and other places and he said the same thing....so that was good to hear. My mom left the show saying "I cant believe I'm in Lynchburg right now. I'm really proud to say Lynchburg has something of this quality."

I really suggest looking for tickets early for the next performance of whatever production they bring that you're a fan of. Hope some on here are going to get to see it. Truly impressive.

Waited too long to get tickets and they were sold out. Then they added another showing and we got four for the 26th. Looking forward to it and seeing the new theater. Great to hear it was really good.

On a side note, a few people have been listing tickets on craigslist for way above face value (~$50 ea).

Ive talked to friends who have seen it and pretty much to a man (figuratively speaking) theyve said that this is the best LU Theater production they have seen. There are 17 (and that is with all the added shows due to high ticket demand) shows and all of them sold out

There were times I had to remind myself that it was a live show because you keep thinking you're listening to a track or "Glee" if you know what I mean....but this is the real deal which is stunning considering the quality of the vocals.

They have always had a lot of talented actors and vocalists in the theater department so that doesnt surprise me

Even without a live band. The Phantom is beast and well done. The tracks help with the sonic pallet of the musical. They also helped with sound quality of the production. They couldn't have done it any better in my opinion. And the flying stuff they did was a nice added feature. :jawdropper
