I already had the Magic as #3 in the East. These moves don't put them any higher. It will be interesting to see if Arenas plays with his head straight since he's with a contender now.

As someone on ESPN said, these trades barely affect the starting 5, it just gives us a spark that might help us get things going.

Nelson
Jrich
Qrich
Bass
Howard

Arenas and Turk as "6th man"

Yes, except now there is basically no real post player coming off the bench, just another Rashard Lewis type player in Ryan Anderson and a bunch of nobodies.

I think ryan anderson actually brings more to the table then lewis at the 4 spot...but you're right there is no traditional post player off the bench, which is why I am not so happy we lost Gortat without picking up at least a halfway serviceable back up center...but I am hoping there might be a smaller deal down the road here to help change that...

I'd hope we could trade Duhon or JWill for a backup center.

I am not guaranteeing anything out of plain superstition...but teams better not sleep on a magic team which has slowly but surely gelled....

Dude has always been capable of this... he's just never been on a winning team before.

I'm no NBA fan, but even I find it annoying how Kobe Bryant always is excluded from fault with the Lakers. I mean, it seems like it's everyone else's fault but him.

I mean, he's good, but cmon, it's a TEAM sport.

I hear Kobe getting criticized all the time. Not sure who you watch or listen to that always excludes him. Though this year, Pau Gasol deserves the biggest amount of the fault...he looked terrible. So I don't think Kobe deserves much of the blame for the debacle of a series that the Lakers had...it was a team-wide meltdown. But I've heard him take some heat for brushing off the off-the-court issues the team had and for not being enough of a leader to help his team through whatever issues they had this year.

Huge game tonight for the Heat. It wasn't a big surprise that Boston came out strong in Game 3, but Miami needs Lebron and Bosh to have much better outings tonight. If Miami goes up 3-1, I think they have this series locked up, but I think even with homecourt, they don't want to let Boston get back even...

And the Memphis/OKC series has been very entertaining. I don't know if either of those teams are polished enough to beat Dallas (and they may just end up beating each other up as the Mavs rest), but I enjoy watching both of those teams play.

I agree. Huge game for MIA tonight. We all knew that if Boston was going to win a game, they'd win Game 3 so no surprise there. Tonight will decide if we're going to have a series or if it MIA is going to go ahead and wrap this up.

I just said that I'm not a huge NBA fan, winthrop.

And ESPN has pretty much made clear that Kobe is next to Godliness... I do know enough to know that.

It wasn't pretty, but I'll take that Heat win tonight. Lebron made some huge shots..luckily his turnover w/ under 20 seconds left in regulation didn't come back to haunt him (he did play very good D on Pierce on the next play though).

What a game from the Grizzlies and Thunder last night! The big shots never let up.
I still cannot believe that Greivis Vasquez contributed so much... I had him pegged to wash out off the D-League by now.
