Yeah, he is the real deal.

3 more outs to go. A little insurance wouldn't hurt.

huge win over a team that has hosted regionals in several of the past 3 or 4 years. We got some pitching and defense this weekend and we win, imagine that. To me, this is the biggest win of this year and last year.

theres no doubt that at an at large is still very much a long-shot but so was sweeping this weekends series about 3 days ago. i still say we could only lose 1 or 2 more non-conference games max to have a prayer of that. These 2 with Maryland are absolutely huge games that we really need to win. I'm sure the guys would just be happy to play some home games, after the 2 maryland games tehy will have played 14 of the 18 games on the road to start the year. That's pretty hard to do.

The tough part coming up is the pitching. It's a quick turnaround up to MD on Tuesday. Niggli can be ready for Wednesday at the earliest, but we need someone to pitch on Tuesday. Kemmerer pitched well in relief vs. W & M; maybe he gets the call? Also, if Niggli does pitch on Wednesday, then he is out for the weekend. We really need for Swanson and Forslund to contribute.

you wont see linza, niggli, or evans with conference play starting, toman's going to want them ready for that. My guess is you see forslund or swanson in one game and kemmerer and the bullpen try to piece together the other. Unless, it seems like coach doesn't trust either swanson or forslund so he has them backing each other up, and rightfully so they have both been dreadful.

Makes sense. That makes me think maybe he'll give Eckelbarger another go at it. He was decent, but not spectacular, against Binghamton. He certainly went after the hitters; he made them put the ball in play.

I think Eckelbarger would be the choice for a midweek start. He certainly has shown he can do well if called upon. I agree with jenkins about Linza, Niggli and Evans...they are our big 3 right now and unless we are absolutely short on arms for a midweek game those guys need to be savewd for weekend series only from here on out

So who do you have in the other midweek game? Kemmerer, or do you risk it with Swanson and/or Forslund? You saw what I saw.....

Thats a good question...Kemmerer to me is a very good middle reliever...but I think he can give 4 or 5 innings as a spot starter

Good news is that they just had a conference weekend series in Atlanta vs. Georgia Tech. Hopefully, they'll be a bit thin in pitching too. :)

jenkins wrote:thats what sucks about baseball, it's hard to get any info on the guys. I still haven't heard what's wrong with Dudley. That being said today is a huge game, this is one of the top 3, if not the best team we will play this year. They are the only team to beat UVA who is now 15-1 after taking the first two games against #8 Clemson. As was previously noted, the at large is a long shot but if we want any hope of that coming around today is a must.
Dudley has been battling through some sort of shoulder issue.

Big Smooth - Is Daniel Brown who you meant? Assuming so, he did throw well earlier so I don't disagree with you.
