I am surprised this hasn't been brought up yet. But we have obviously been somewhat distracted the past 48 hours around here.

But the repercussions from the now infamous NPR sting by James O'Keefe's Veritas Project continue to mount. If you haven't seen the report, prepare to be highly entertained ...

Not only is the fundraiser gone but now the NPR CEO has been forced out. This is the kind of fodder that will be used ad infinitum in budget negotiations on Capitol Hill.

For the record, I actually enjoy listening to NPR. I rarely agree with their perspectives but it can be great to hear the Left's POV.

I love it! Putting politics aside, we don't need "government radio" or TV. Cause bottom line, that's what it is.

The only good show on NPR is Car Talk. That show would do fine in the private sector.

Public broadcasting served an important purpose during the terrestrial era's formative years. It no longer fills a need to be subsidized.

+1. We get a little POV and then some good comedy when the Diane Rehm show comes on and the moonbats wiggle out of their hiding places. Marketplace and Talk of the Nation are the shows I appreciate the most.

For the record- I believe that myself and many others here could make Schiller look like a fool.

I hope our Congress has the political will to cut NPR.

I'll go out on a limb and say both... at the same time.

LBC, I'm glad to see you getting involved and finding threads outside of the heated one. I hope you stick around (if you arent already a regular poster :)). It's not always this intense.

As far as NPR goes....just a few weeks ago they mentioned Jesus Daily on the air and I was thrilled. Now I'm not quite so sure.. :dontgetit

When my mom drove us to school we always listened to Morning Edition and if we were going out on a Saturday we would listen to Car Talk...I love the closing credits for that show...

There is definately programming on NPR that is both informative and entertaining. Click and Clack always give me a laugh, and I used to Be a Garrison Keillor fan, but lately he seems to have become a parody of himself.

I just always love the way the NPR folks spin statistics. When they're trying to defend themselves against criticism that they take government money, they say "But it's only 2% of our budget!" When they think that government money is going away, they scream "We can't make it without government money!!!"

My favorite NPR line is "we don't take advertising". That's pretty funny.

That's what I hoped, but you never know anymore (re: moon landing).
