LYNCHBURG — A women’s conference coming to Lynchburg in October lists former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as one of its speakers.

The Extraordinary Women Conference announced Palin’s visit today for its conference on Oct. 7-8 at Liberty University’s Vines Center.

“Extraordinary Women is pleased to announce that Governor Sarah Palin will be sharing her testimony of faith with us at the 2011 Lynchburg Ewomen conference,” the group’s website states under the headline, “Latest News.”

“We are also excited to share that this year’s central Virginia conference and national simulcast will be held in the Vines Center on Liberty University’s campus.”

@ BYD and flamerbob: Seriously? She is coming to share her testimony, not make some political grandstanding. Can you get the heck of whatever high horse your on? So you dont particularly like her as a politician and/or candidate? Does that make her any less of a CHristian because of it?

Me thinks she's using her testimony as a political grandstand.

i cant see why she wouldnt speak in convo that friday, except that half of the vines will fall asleep during the speech while the other half disrespectfully claps at completely random points. (for those not aware, this is what happened when newt gingrich spoke last sememster.)

Ding ding ding. Take it easy Bj. She's not on tv as much as she is to "share her testimony". Look at Kate and John Goselin as examples.

yeah, because we all know Sarah Palin is completely stupid and killed 6 people in Arizona this year. How do I know? Cause I'm too stupid to do my own research, plus, NBC told me.

I still don't get the seething at the mouth that the sound of Palin's name brings. If it says she's there to give her testimony, just take it as that. If something different actually happens, well then you'll have something to complain about. If you'd like to attend the ladies' conference to boo her testimony, you're free to do that as well. It's just so weird that every time her names comes up it brings out this irrational disdain on here.

I'm still trying to find the post on this thread where someone said that lol. Like it or not, a lot of Americans aren't fans of her. No need to get defensive about it. You just got to realize that you may be in the minority of people that actually are interested in hearing her speak at convo (ala most polotical speakers that come to convo).

That's fine, people don't have to like her, I'm just saying it annoys me when people don't do their own research. That's all.

Where did I say anything about disdain for her? She was a political tool used by the Republicans like Obama is for the left. It's personality driven, not by content. That's my opinion from the research I've done. And let's face it, She will also sell tickets.

My two cents:

1. If you think this is only about Christian testimony and not about politics I have a bridge I would like to sell you.

2. I hate that this will only be used by the wider media to further the stereotype of Liberty and her students/graduates.

3. I think she is probably a really nice lady and I wish her no ill will.
