Preston Dembowiak helped the Flames to a second-place finish at the Seahawk Invitational, as the senior posted posted a one-over par 217 during the two-day event.

For the second-consecutive round, Liberty bested the 12-team field at the Seahawk Invitational, allowing the Flames to take second place at the two-day event that concluded action on Monday afternoon.

The Flames fired a closing round seven-over par 295 during the closing round. Liberty finished a stroke better than host UNC Wilmington (296) and four strokes better than VCU (299), rounding out the only three teams to break 300 during a blustery day on par-72, 6,918-yard trek.

Thanks to a strong opening round on Sunday morning, No. 52 UNC Wilmington was able to fend off the charge of No. 48 Liberty to capture the event's team title. The Seahawks closed the 54-hole event with a 15-over par 879 (290-293-296), followed four strokes behind by Liberty's 19-over par 883 (303-285-295).

And the only team that beat us was essentially playing on their home course. Our golf team is doing an amazing job!
