he's the greatest, best ACC player, the family can do no wrong, the mom is hot, the dad couldn't miss and neither can his sons. Perfect family. And when he gets hot, yes he can make em.

(I got confidence Larry Blair could score in the ACC as well, let's not be naive to think Curry is only BSC player that could help an ACC school)

Funny thing is coach k benched him for Thornton last week and after last night 2nd half he's the best player in the ACC.

Do you always argue against things that nobody says?

Who claimed he was the best ACC player? I don't think anyone argued he was even the best on his team. Who even said that Curry is the only BSC player that could help an ACC school? If I'm wrong, please quote someone.

Great article by Lang:
Curry's competitive nature makes him a good fit at Duke
By Chris Lang
Published: February 25, 2011
CHARLOTTESVILLE — Minutes before Virginia and Duke tipped off last week at John Paul Jones Arena, Cavaliers assistant coach Ritchie McKay interrupted Blue Devils guard Seth Curry as he was going through his pre-game shooting routine. The two exchanged a quick hug, and Curry shook hands with UVa director of basketball operations Brad Soucie before getting back to business...

Curry remains a polarizing figure to Liberty’s fan base. A quick perusal of the message board at FlameFans.com shows that some consider Curry a traitor. Others still follow his exploits at Duke and wish him the best. Curry remained on campus for the rest of the spring semester after announcing his transfer. Some of his classmates shunned him. Others understood the decision. Curry’s lone reason for transferring was to play at the highest level of Division I basketball.

"People who understood my situation and really knew what was going on, they really understood where I was coming from," said Curry, who still keeps in touch with former Liberty teammate David Minaya. "From the outside looking in, I got a lot of heat for it. I tried not to pay attention to it. … I can understand the people who really didn’t like the decision. Liberty fans, I really appreciate everything they’ve done for me. It was a fun time being there.

I love seeing Chris writing stories that readers want to read. Another game wrap (as necessary as they are) is generally forgotten within minutes of being read. This is the type of story we'll reference for months and possibly even years.

Well done, Chris. Very well done.

I would have liked to have been present when he was interviewed especially with lines like "It's great to be back in VA" and "Liberty fans, I really appreciate everything they’ve done for me. It was a fun time being there."

Trust me, I love doing long-form writing and features more than doing game stories. The one I wrote last week on James Spencer and the walk-ons was really fun. There's just so much going on right now that it's tough to get to a lot more than the nuts and bolts.

we're still having this conversation? I mean guys it could go on for years. Do I hate what he did? Yes. Do I understand it was going to happen? Yes. Do I wish him the best? Yes. Do I blame him for leaving to play ball at DUKE? (put aside your own personal bias and think about playing ball with the elites). No.

Chris, the hard copy article had 4 pics of SC in his away Duke uniform. Since it was an article about him and LU & Duke, was there any thought about including one small old pic of him in his LU uniform?

That wouldn't have been a bad idea. I admit that I didn't really think about that. Lee came up with me to UVa for that game and got all of the shots. I think we wanted to have fresh art rather than using file, but using one from his LU days wouldn't have been a bad plan.

Nothing super new, but I figure I'd share it anyway...
VT Hoops: Catching up with the Currys ...
The recruitment of Del’s boys to Virginia Tech has long been a favorite debate of Hokies fans. Stephen Curry was asked to walk on with the Hokies and redshirt his first season, then he’d get a scholarship. He instead went to Davidson, became a super-scoring All-American and is now one of the NBA’s bright young stars. Seth was told he’d likely get a scholarship as a freshman, but Virginia Tech slow-played him and also wanted him to redshirt, so he went to Liberty.

There, Seth Curry became the Big South freshman of the year, averaged 20.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.4 steals and hit a school-record 102 3-pointers. His 707 points were sixth most in Big South history. Then he transferred to Duke.

In the end we all won. He got what he wanted and we got a better coach out of it. We may not have had the magical run we all wanted right away but our program overall is better for it.

I admit that it was very painful when he left. It was like a dark cloud loomed over Liberty during that time but I was a big fan of his then and I still am. I catch a Duke game every chance I get and I only wish him the best.

He came, we all cheered him on, we loved watching him knock down 3's. He made a decision to better his personal situation (in his own opinion - which is the one that counts for him) and left. If you hold a grudge that's a personal problem. You don't have to like his decision, or even like him but to still be bitter is only hurting yourself.

Being sarcastic isnt gonna help BYD...do I like what he did...at the end of the day no (especially since I dont have a dog in the whole stupid Duke/UNC thing) but at the very least I know that he made his decision, whats done is done and there isnt any point in me continuing to be upset about it. I heard a pastor say once that bitterness is like drinking arsenic and waiting for the other person to die...

If it weren't for the fact that RM showed his true colors and jetted as soon as his price recruit decided to transfer when he knew the going got tough then I would agree its impossible to know if we are better off now as a program. Lets say Curry stays, we do well make a run in the tourney and gets Liberty on the national map...then he graduates, then what?? McKay finds another reason to leave and we are left to recover....and be nothing more then a flash in the pan...

I would love for us to build a consistent program and I think our new direction does that which ultimately is a better direction for this program to be heading which will lead us to bigger and better things.

I still think its crazy there is still more bitterness towards curry then there is with a man who left when the going was bound to get tough. I suspect that is because Curry is doing fairly well and it pains people to see. McKay is not doing great and is kind of behind the scenes. It wish Curry was still here, but him leaving showed us all McKay's true colors which ultimately is a good thing for a program to find out sooner rather then later

I didn't turn it on until about 15 mins left in the second half. I've yet to see Seth play. I know he's in foul trouble but wow.

Edit: Nevermind, he's in now.

Curry finishes with 5...fouls that is. 0 points to go along with those as Duke falls to VT.

I'd say he just got way too emotionally charged and couldn't put it together.
