Just tuning in. Arrrggghhhh. Why did Beakler only pitch 2/3 of an inning if he was effective? Did he get hurt?

I dont like the managing down the last 3 innings of that game at all. Seriously, why not go with guys who have done it and have experience in these situations, then Toman pinch hits like it's the big leagues with righties and lefties matchups. I'm so tired of the bullpen coming in and walking people. The walks really did in the pen again today, can we please find some guys that can throw strikes. Not a game you want to lose if your regional team coming out on opening day with your ace on the mound against one of the few teams that you have on your schedule that could potentially help your resume.

I really don't understand why Toman went to an unproven JUCO late. There must be a reason Beakler did pitch longer and I sure would like to know what it was. He was by far our best pitcher out of the pen last year.

Thats absolutely true. If we had 3 Dane Beaklers we could be a top 25 team.

The worst part is with this loss, we're now relying on a guy who has thrown one inning in a sanctioned game in two years to help us salvage this series. No matter what anyone says, for us to "punch our ticket," we need to win three games this weekend.

Also, Ecklebarger is likely done for the weekend. He was warming up in the 5th or 6th inning and didn't go in until the 8th. That's a lot of throwing.

center fielder misjudged a hard line drive that hung in the air went over his head. gave up a run but thats not what did us in. oh well.
