Set up a keeper league on ESPN, but I can remove the keeper option if no one really wants it.
Settings to note (If you don't like any of these, speak up)...
Teams: 12 (will change if needed)
Positions: C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, Middle Infield, Corner Infield, 5 OF, 1 Utiil, 9 Pitchers (relief or starter). (This is the ESPN default).
Scoring: 7x7
Batting
Batting Average (AVG) Home Runs (HR)
Runs Scored (R) Runs Batted In (RBI)
Stolen Bases (SB) On Base plus Slugging Pct (OPS)
Total Bases (TB)
Pitching
Earned Run Average (ERA)* Strikeouts (K)
Walks plus Hits Per Innings Pitched (WHIP)* Wins (W)
Saves (SV) Quality Starts (QS)
Strikeout to Walk Ratio (K/BB)
I added a couple to this to add more depth. Total bases is one of the more overlooked stats in a traditional league. A guy who hits a ton of doubles and triples is not rewarded in a standard league. Same with quality starts, it means you can get some good production out of pitchers on bad teams.
Limit of 6 pick-ups from the free agent list per week. Will move this down if we want to prevent "streaming" of pitchers.
LM only veto power. No league votes for trades. Just so things go more quickly. We can discuss unfair trades on here or on the message board for the league.
6 teams make the playoffs, 1 week per playoff matchup.
5 keepers for next year.
Let me know if you have questions. PM me your e-mail so I can invite you, as well. I am willing to change things if you guys would like a different system.
Also...
Do we want to do an auction draft? Let me know if you do, otherwise we'll do it normally.
It was my privilege to serve you today. If you have any feedback, please direct it to my Assistant Director....
