Good for UCF. I will support any school that can tackle the Big 3 of Florida.

And off-topic, but did you know that they actually have Theme Park Management as a major?

I've felt for a few years that UCF, and USF are sleeping giants. They are schools willing to spend money, and they are in Florida. Great location for students, and a recruiting hotbed. It's nice to see UCF getting some much deserved attention.

When you go to the campus of USF and then go to the campus of UCF it is like night and day. UCF has much better facilities and comes off much better. Its not even close in my opinion. It blows my mind that the Big East chose USF over UCF...I guess the lure of a half full Raymond James stadium was better then a half full Citrus bowl that is falling apart back when they made their decision. At this point, though, UCF has surpassed USF as far as facilities goes and I think the Big East would be crazy not to invite them especially with the built in rivalry with USF that could be played every year. It could be huge years down the road.

Postman is correct on the differences between the campuses.

Everything stated about UCF applies to Houston as well. It is just that UH has been around much longer and has a distant history of success as well. Both schools stand out like sore thumbs in C-USA.

If UCF & UH leave, the league may wind up having to rethink its strategy altogether. That could ultimately lead to expansion. But we would certainly not be high on their wish list initially. But crazier things could happen.

If UCF and UH leave, I'd think the first two schools they'd target would be LaTech and Charlotte (assuming Charlotte is going to step up to FBS).

Interesting. I haven't been to either campus so I take your word for it. UCF is that far ahead huh? Good for them, because atleast the money thats being spent is paying off. With all of that florida talent there is no reason they can't be a viable contender in their conference consistently.

It just goes to show you that under the right visionary a university can go far fast. It's just staggering that they have had that type of growth just in the last 20 years. Amazing. Maybe one day we'll have a similar article about us on ESPN.

If you're thoroughly impressed with the campus at UCF I hate to imagine what your experience was like at USF.(You must have been held up at gunpoint, waterboarded & interrogated)
There's a reason they have the 2nd highest enrollment:It's a commuter school. If you sit at a red light in Oviedo long enough ,the administration will eventually throw a diploma through your window.

There's not one building on that campus with distinct features,an ounce of character or history. The stadium was built without water fountains & was paid for with my tax dollars & outrageous cable bills. The quad looks like a glorified community college. Gameday is a complete drunken mess (yes I realize the typical tailgate atmosphere) & jacksparrow81 will vouch for me on how trashy & fairweather their "fan base" is.
I have several friends who graduated from UCF but the majority of the campus isn't inviting or courteous in any way. It's a state school but there's nowhere to park on campus for free, even if you're a guest.

I speak from simply driving around both campuses. I am not sure how anybody can say USF has a nicer campus and the commuter campus statement usf fans like to say about ucf simply is no longer true. I am not saying UCF is the nicest campus in the world, not by a long shot, but compared to usf's ghetto its paradise.

Interesting. I have 3 friends who go there and they absolutely love it. I frequent Orlando quite often and I think it looks great. But, to each his own :D

I have to agree with Postman about USF's ugly campus. Take it from someone who has seen the growth of USF campus from the 50s up until 2002. One ugly campus.

yeah...when my wife and I went on campus for the first time when LU played USF earlier in the season we couldn't believe how run down the place looked...I was under the impression it was a nicer place then it is.

I remember going to a ucf basketball game years ago thinking the same thing about UCF...it was not very nice, but then when I went back there last year when LU player there I was so impressed with how far that place has come. Its like night and day and so much nicer then usf
