another big reason that LU doesn't get much air time in Richmond or Hampton Roads is because of the fact that (even though as Manson pointed out there are upwards of 1,000 alums) those alums don't all root for Liberty. They instead pull for whatever college they grew up liking... It is sad, but a lot of the older alums just went to Liberty and have the degree, but do not care at all about the athletics...

hopefully we can get there though soon... i think a National Championship puts us in a good place

Rocco played linebacker for Joe Paterno at Penn State earning letters in 1979 and 1980. He played in the 1979 Liberty Bowl and the 1980 Fiesta Bowl for the Nittany Lions. He then transferred to Wake Forest under then head coach Al Groh where he started for two more seasons at outside linebacker in 1982 and 1983. He was named team captain of the Demon Deacons in 1983.

Well, with the BSC having a automatic bid to the playoffs all we have to do is take care of our business. We came close last year, and there is no reason to think we can't do it this year. It's funny how some people are never happy. Coach Rocco takes over, and was able to inject excitement into the program. He's won the past four years, and instilled a winning culture. It takes time to build a program to national prominence. He is getting there.

I haven't been around long, but I was reading about Flames Club donations and they have dramatically increased the past four years. Is that all football related? Maybe not, but i'm inclined to think it is. For most schools football is the posterchild of the athletic program, and when it does well everything else benefits. We are going to get our attention. It's coming.

over on AGS if you are found to be using multiple accounts, your extra accounts are banned (and I think your original is banned too) since it would be in violation of ToS...dont see why something like that wouldnt be the case here too (although itd mean losing some very good posters if it was that strictly enforced)

This person is not posting on here under multiple names concurrently. It is not unusual to have someone forget their ID or password and start fresh ... even among our regulars. But this person is relatively new. Otherwise even though I completely disagree with his/her perspectives, they fall within the realm of the terms of service IMHO. For those who want to go FBS ASAP, isn't it rather telling that the largest media markets in the state (NoVA, Richmond and "Hampton") don't give us the time of day?
