Don't move the Saturday games to the afternoon at Liberty. 1st of all it won't matter that much and secondly I won't be able to do my VMI/Liberty double headers anymore...Yes we had great attendance back when coach Meyer was the Head coach and his assistants were Dunton, Nazigian and Scarborough. Those were some fun times and an electric atmosphere. As Luconn and Oldflame have mentioned there are various reasons for the up and down results since that time. I know VCU gets good attendance no matter what. I realize They have had a winning team for many years and Richmond is a bigger area than Lynchburg but the truth is they have a great fan experience. They throw T shirts in the audience after every 3 pointer, their band is the best I've seen, they have good games including the VA lottery during timeouts and half time. They have a great PA announcer. Plus they market pretty well. It can be done. I'm not saying I have the answers but I do long for the day when the Vines is electric even in between semesters.

You obviously have been wearing your headphones for too long if you don't hear "and it's another Tee for 3, from Universal Tee's" in the back of your head at all times.

Just curious for a glimpse into the past.
I'll admit you guys had a good season last year but their is a big difference between us and you when it comes to baseball

Yes I do hear that now that you say that Luconn.

In case anyone was unaware Chuck South beat VMI 88 to 80. Not quite sure what to make of VMI this year.

Senorida, Your insecure need to reference your outstanding baseball team is duly noted but the post had nothing to do with any on field difference, just referring to the crowds that Liberty has in the main sports.

Thanks to the others for the info. Hopefully the excitement can be brought back with the momentum Layer and this group is creating.

80% of liberty students are fairweather fans.

im one in basketball. (maybe even football since we've only lost twice at home in the past 3 seasons...)

im excited for this team this year. if i were at school i would definitely be at this game. but last year ill ashamedly admit i dint go to a single game, even though the year before that i went to almost every game. in fact, i even chose the number in my name after he-who-must-not-be-named instead of rashad because i thought i should pick someone who was my year and would be here just as long as me

that's to say when we come back i believe the vines will be rocking next home game with 4,000ish students, and if were really as good as our record indicates, then this is gonna be a really fun year.

here we go.

Will be great when the BB game on MASN is over. Charlotte/SBU in double OT and then the flame game will be showing.

Good half. JC is carrying us the last 5 minutes. No one else could buy a bucket. TO's are under control but the one at the 1 minute mark was painful. 4 pt game at the half. Coastal up.

Holmes is probably one of the biggest if not the strongest guy in the league. He's tried to take a charge 3 different times instead of play defense.1 successful. Might as well wear a skirt.

We are not going to win many of these games shooting 35%. Of course they are only shooting 33%. Gotta make the easy ones.

They are legit inside - we can't take a possession off or they get a put back. We really need a little scoring in or around the paint - will be hard to keep living on the outside shot.

couple of times i thought they been going over the back. also it looks like they are back dooring JVP? he's falling asleep a couple of times. Good defense but a few breakdowns.

missed few 2-3 ft shots :banghead

Coastal does a great job of pushing the ball to the rim. They are a solid team.

DirecTV is offering ESPN Full Court for free for a week. Thankfully I was able to see this game from the beginning. That 3 OT game I'm sure was killing you MASN viewers. WOW. I have 2 TIVO's going one on MASN and one on ESPN. MASN is the only one that showed the half time show. ESPN does their own half time.
