"Things have been heating up a little," Kersten told JCFootball.com. "I have offers from Buffalo, Western Michigan, Bowling Green, Southern Illinois, Western Carolina and Liberty and this week I'm hoping to hear from some Pac 10 schools like Washington or Washington State and UNLV and SMU are also looking at me."Click Here for Full Story
"My coach said a lot of coaches have been calling him talking about me and wanting to get more information on me. I'm expecting to talk to a couple of them this week to see where things stand."
Kersten played the right tackle spot the past two years for the Warriors and is known for his hard-nosed style as well as his adversity.
"I can run-block and pass-block well and I feel like I do both really well," Kersten noted. "Coaches like my intensity and my feet a lot."
In addition to his outstanding work ethic, Kersten is naturally strong, posting a 455 pound bench press, a 315 pound power-clean and a squat of over 500 pounds.
Kersten was a full-qualifier after graduating from Washburn High School in Minnesota and plans to sign with a school during the mid-year signing period that begins today (December 15th) and lasts until January 15th. Wherever he ends up he will have two years to play two unless he gets a medical redshirt after missing the 2008 seaon with a broken ankle.
