If you meant where do I think teams that want to move up, they won't be able to.

So with the lack of a conference at the FBS level holding all of those teams back, why would they not band together to make such a move to eliminate that hurdle? Especially with all that we've read about FCS football possibly not being sustainable.

I know it might not happen this year or the next or the next....But I'm getting anxious. I'm ready to wake up one morning and come on this site and read "I heard from a source of a source of a source that all of Liberty's Athletics is moving up to such and such conference....I'd even be happy with there will be an announcement coming out within the next week or 2 about Liberty Athletics. :)

WARNING BREAKING NEWS: I heard from a source of a source of a source that all of Liberty's Athletics is moving up to a newly formed East Coast FBS conference. Teams will begin play in the 2012-13 school year. Other teams supposedly joining this conference: JMU, App State, Delaware, ODU, Charlotte, GA State. Rumored that Army, Navy, UMass, and Temple have shown interest as well. No word yet as to the name of this conference.

If all of you REALLY think it's going to happen anytime soon, then by all means go right ahead.

By the way, I heard a rumor Liberty was going to join the ACC in 2013...

Well just consider the "source" or the "sources source" or the "source of the sources source" :D

And SCHF - had you actually read the thread Appy St was arleady mentioned!

Mr. Haize Sir - If you actually read my post or possessed a vague understanding of the bold function, you would see that I was in fact attempting to assist in the naming of this rising conference. Previous experience in the "Your ideal conference for LU" or "Liberty Realignment Thread" would show that the purpose of my post was to make light of a horrific idea for a conference name previously posted by yours truly.

I stand (or actually lounge) corrected. Pardon my error! But let's try these on:

Appalachian Sports Schools
Southern Universities Conference
Commonwealth Region Athletic Programs
Confederate Sports Association
Wannabe Athletic Association
Big SoC (Big South /Southern / Colonial)
Elite Eastern Conference

Getting the idea? (although I like the rumor)

I like the name Appalachian Conference and it makes sense otherwise, but I can't see using that name if App. State is in it.

Few words have a more negative connotation than "Appalachian" (my apologies to my good friends in Boone). But if you call it that, you might as well call it the Hillbilly Conference.

Sly - Or the others may be operating under the "if we laugh we only encourage him" or "if we ignore him maybe he will go away" philosophy.
But thanks for the props. Interesting to see C.S.A get some nods. The last C.S.A in these parts didn't fare to well or last very long!! You could even say they were crushed by the Big East!!

The NorthEastern Aristrocratic Conspirators?

Only on FlameFans can a discussion of FBS realignment turn into a discussion of Civil War anachronisms.
