However, I can see it being NDSU and SCSU due to name recognition for SCSU from their good games against App on ESPN in recent years.

Also, plenty of chances for a "Maine" like team to make it in. Jacksonville or CCSU are possible candidates to surprise everyone.

I think LU and NDSU have the best resumes, but that's not always what gets you in. I can see it being NDSU and SCSU.

Yes but in my opinion your are biased against LU so hearing you say we get in helps! I kid I kid, you just dont like the coach's

IMO more factors go into the process then just wins and losses. They can say whatever they want but its true. Who's going to travel well, etc, etc. I think it is possible for them to know that with our new stadium we WILL be heavy bidders which helps the bottom line which should make us more attractive. Obviously the committee wont know for sure we'd be heavy bidders b/c no commitments have been made but I think our desires speak in the form of our new tower.

10am is right in the middle of our first service. I'm going to play in the worship band at our middle school service, "sneak out" after that to go to my office, track things on here, then go to the second service.

JMU is a loss to a non-playoff team. They're a good team, but you could call it a bad loss because they're a 6-5 team.

get real. JMU would have gone undefeated in the Big South. our 0-8 team beat your conference champion. Big South is not getting 2 teams in the dance for its first year as an auto-bid.

Has nothing to do with the Big South's merits, but thanks for trying.

Who else should get 2 teams? The MEAC? hah. PFL? hah. NEC? hah.

Either a 6 win team is in, which would make sense this season, or we have a really good chance.

your chance is behind ours, unfortunately. CAA >*

but neither of us will be in. Lets face it, politics are politics. Montana is the only FCS money-maker. they are in and hosting the first round.

UNH and Villanova are in over any 2nd place team from these conferences. UMass is still alive as well as a 6 win team, IMO.

It will be very interesting. FCS was weak this year. either a 6 win team is in our a historically weak conference gets a 2nd bid.

It's looking like more and more people have us as the last team out. We're going to have to hope the huge win over Stony Brook left a good taste in the committee's mouth.

I think our biggest comp. will be Montana, as Lang mentioned. It stinks but it's reality, the comm. looks at the past few years when determining these things. Montana certainly has an edge there.

At the end of the day no one has any idea because this has never happened before (expanded playoffs) but if you start letting in teams that are just a game over .500 you are setting a crap way to do it honestly i know im a LU homer but you can't let 6-4 teams in it makes the playoffs.

After standing around after the game talking to a bunch of folks who follow this stuff closely, I believe we are in. However, I am ready for the comittee smack down too. Rocco says we are in too.

I just think a lot of things fell our way today and we did an awesome job stating our case against a VERY good SBU team. I just think the comittee doesn't have all that many great choices. Like Lang I do have questions with the comittee and almighty Montana. I do wonder how Chris has SCSU and us in. If they put a 6 win Umass in, I'll eat my hat, scream, and be really mad.

Also, I have no way of really knowing this, but I think this team could have a real shot to win a first round game if they got in, especially at home.

I'm torn. I want us in the playoffs, but if we make it, things could be really messed up on Monday. See, each year we tune in on Sunday to find that our football hopes have been dashed, but then wait one day to watch one of our cross country runners win the national championship. If we get in, I'm not sure what will happen with Sam on Monday. http://www.flamefans.com/forums/viewtop ... 20&t=16627

Yeah we watched it from the field on the big screen and he was making his sales pitch to the commitee saying that this was a championship game and we rose to the occasion and won it. he was laying out our resume with a big smile on his face.

Here are 2 things I posted on Twitter during the conference, but I didn't get to listen to that much.

Rocco just said coach Bennett better call and thank him and better send more than a Christmas card this year.

He also said we deserve at at large bid. He said if we are ranked 16 or higher how coulg we possible be passed over.

Well, we're idiots. We left right after the trophy presentation and, I guess, right before the "sales pitch". I hope they are buying what he is selling! If our offense plays like they did tonight, we will be tough on anyone we would face.

The Big South is not getting two teams in....hate it for y'all, but our conference gets no respect, and with an idiot for a commissioner, how in the heck are we supposed to get respect?

Something tells me JU with their high-octane offense and future Florida offensive coordinator Kerwin Bell as HC might get a push, but yes, if Montana is there, the committee takes them.

This.

Has.

Nothing.

To.

Do.

With.

The.

Big.

South.

It has to do with us being one of the few teams left that has reached 7 DI wins and has a sliver of a resume.

If it was about the Big South, we wouldn't get it. Luckily, it's not.

And if they put in SCSU, that's proof it's not about conference, because the MEAC is worse than the Big South!
