We have got the end of the bench in the game.

Sommy, Hoyt, Spencer, Woods, McMasters.

Sommy with a putback of his own putback miss, then SVU with a 3. 82-46.

2:30 left.

Carter to the line for a 1 and 1.

Carter misses, Sommy rebounds, back to Carter, he misses, and Sommy goes over the back on the rebound.

2:15 to go. Timeout LU.

82-47 LU.

I think Sommy is working his way further down the bench. He is athletic but it only gets him in trouble with over the backs and pushoffs. With Carter and JVP being respectable tonight, and Antwan playing well, I think Sommy is going to shift down the bench a bit.

Top performers in LU, all in just around 20 minutes each:

Jesse: 10 points, 7 boards, 7 assists
Minaya: 13 points, 8 boards, 4 assists
Brown: 11 points, 9 boards, 3 assists
Antwan: 9 points, 5 boards, 2 blocks
Evan: 14 points, 2 assists, 1 steal

Other stats:

John Caleb 12 points on 4 of 5 from 3.
JVP with 5 points and 4 boards in 9 minutes.
Carter with 6 and 3 in 12 minutes.

Sommy and Asaad: 7 combined turnovers in 24 combined minutes. Rest of team: 7 turnovers total.
Chene Phillips: 5 fouls, no points, 3 boards, 1 assist, 1 steal, 1 turnover

LU shoots almost 47% from the floor, almost 54% from 3, and 75% from the line. 52-23 rebounding advantage. 16 offensive boards for LU.

Coach told the team that if SVU scored 50, they'd have to workout before the trip to Lubbock.

The starters were begging to get back on the floor at the end there. Haha.

I don't know if this will be the case Sommy was just so much stronger than all the SV guys that he would touch them and they would move over. It definitely was the better showing from Joel and Carter tonight but its tough to judge too much as SV is a really bad team....really bad. Sommy didn't do a good job of adjusting his game at all.

He was out there in warmups and looked fine, but he didn't even have his game jersey on during the game. I'm thinking since he is coming off surgery Layer wanted to rest him tonight since he wasn't needed. To be honest, the way JC has been shooting the 3 Jeremy may not play as much as we thought this year.

Just an opinion, but if Gordon doesn't improve his shooting percentage, John Caleb may earn a spot as the starting 2 guard later in the year: his 3 point shot is as automatic as Anderson's was his freshman year.

JC can't create for himself. Evan can.

Without Evan, we'd lead the nation in shot clock violations. No one would shoot.

Let's not get crazy here and start comparing Sanders to Anderson. I'm not sure what player you are referring to as lights out - but I never saw that player... Sanders is a much better player.

Anderson missed the first 10 games or so of his freshman season (RMK's first year) with an injury. Normally a player would be redshirted in that situation, but Richie only had 7 players he trusted to play meaningful minutes that year, and Jeremy was one of them, so when he was healthy enough, he played. He got off to a hot start shooting the 3, much as JC has. JC has hit 7 of his first 12. I'm quite sure Jeremy's stats were similar at the same point, and he hovered around the 50% mark from 3 most of that season. Jeremy was BSC all-freshman that year.
