What we should root for:

SBU to beat CCU tonight

GW to beat CCU next week.

That would eliminate CCU.

Then all we have to do is hold serve at home and we are champs.

Some notes from bigsouthsports.com preview for week 8 on liberty:
#14 LIBERTY FLAMES (5-2, 2-0 Big South) idle

Liberty is idle this weekend and returns to action Oct. 30 at Presbyterian College.
The Flames are the first team to start 2-0 in Big South play for four consecutive seasons.
MIKE BROWN is the first player in Big South history with three consecutive 3-touchdown passing games.
CHRIS SUMMERS leads all FCS wide receivers with 12 receiving touchdowns.
Liberty has scored 40-or-more points in three-straight games, tying a Big South record.

We are going to need to step on PC's throat right out of the gate next week and then crush it as soon as we have the chance...we can NOT let them hang around for even a moment or we could end up just like G-W

All I've got to say is job well done thus far boys! I hope we start to switch it into another gear though, because we definitely haven't hit our full potential yet.

It's just what I expected. Coach Priore has his team completely focused on conference play and could care less about non-conference. I bet during Laffy game week they only practiced for Coastal.

Current Standings
Liberty 2-0
SBU 2-0
Coastal 1-1
GW 1-1
VMI 2-2
PC 1-2
CSU 0-3

October 30 games:
Liberty @ PC
CCU @ GW
CSU @ SBU

VMI @ Army

Apparently SBU had some internal problems. Priore dismissed his 2 senior starting defensive ends after the Laffy debacle for "disciplinary reasons". Looks like it got the teams attention.

I agree that SBU will be our main competition but our focus needs to be on the Blue Hose...they showed yesterday that if you let them stick around they can do just enough to knock off anyone...so as I said before, we ned to crush their throat (not just step on it) very early this Saturday and not give them a chance to get back in the game. We need a game like the 50-10 game we put up at Charleston Southern a few years ago.

That's what they do. If they think they can walk over the next opponent, they'll spend extra time on their upcoming tough game. They did it last year with us. Their bye week was spent on us and then they switched back to CSU for game week and lost to them.

How pitiful is the Big South Conference?
It should be renamed Big Easy for Liberty.

#92 Coastal Carolina
#99 Gardner-Webb
#103 VMI
#111 Presbyterian

Let's be honest guys. We have no business losing any game on the rest of our schedule. We will be favored in every contest from here on out. It's nice to have the target on our backs though. How the coaches and team handles it remains to be seen. I'm confident though that I need to find a way to get out of working on November 27th. 8)

it will be completely unacceptable if we lose anymore games...this team is so much more superior then any team in this conference that it shouldn't be a challenge...sadly I know at least 1 game, if not 2 will be enough to make me feel sick...with that said if we lost a conference game this year it will be a huge disappointment...

now let all the program apologist come out, but when you do please explain to me why my way of thinking is wrong, I doubt you'll have a good response

Nov. 27 is 2 weeks from my daughter's due date. For some reason, my wife is worried about me being 3 hours away at a football game at that point. C'mon, man! She was in labor for 16 hours last time. 3 hour drive up+3 hour game+3 hours back+3 hour nap= 4 hours to spare. I'm not sure what the big deal is.

postie I agree with you that we should not lose another game from here on out...but we pretty much have to go right out and crush the throat of whoever we are playing because as has been shown the last few years...when we let teams hang around...the result tends to not go in our favor. I had LU beating PC by at least 30 this weekend (Id have to go back and look for the exact number)

I'd be disappointed if we didn't beat PC by AT LEAST 40....

"Remember the Maine...."

You know those guys will be playing with all kinds of confidence after their G-W win, which will hopefully serve as a wake-up call for us. I can't wait to hear what Coach Rocco has to say about this on his radio show onTuesday.

You see at first I feel sorry for you, BUT you should have thought about this 30 weeks ago

My first child (daughter) was born while we were on a family ski vacation in Aspen, CO. My vote is for you to bring your wife with you.
