Seriously? This is a Liberty board! Of course we think we will win. If this was a Chuck South board....well no one would be on it anyway.

I predicted us to lose, so you are wrong there. We should win, but we've gotten pushed around and Jay Mills is a magician....and apparently he's screaming "REMEMBER THE 14 POINT LOSS IN 2002!!!" so his guys will be motivated.

Actually, he probably has his guys convinced they can win the Big South. That's because they can. Last year they were one throw away from being Big South Champs.

TTL picked a 3 point win. It runs with his line of posting - CSU is better than most think, and Liberty is inconsistent.

And of all people, you my friend are the most "all over the place" in your analysis of this game.

If LU can recapture the dominant team that they were last year (LU has actually scored 50 or more points in 5 straight home games...including the one at City Stadium) This one will not be close

Agreed with everything 14 just said. CSU believes they can and will win this game and the conference. They have nearly everyone back from last year's team that nearly did win it all.

Hopefully our 20,000+ fans help have something to say about that  . We need to be loud CONSISTENTLY though. During the Savannah game they really only got loud for maybe 10 different plays if that.

I am of a feeling that LU will win this one solidly (hence the 11 point differential I predicted). Coach Mills has done wonders with CSU over the years from what Ive seen but Liberty, no matter how good or bad they have been or how good or bad CSU has been, has had their number. I remember how they were one play away from stealing that game in Charleston last year (I was listening in the computer lab that day). I am not expecting Coach Mills to go to his guys on Monday morning and say "Hey guys, we havent won in Lynchburg since 2000 so let's just go in there lay down and take our beating" he wants his guys to believe they can win there and will continue to reinforce that. Do I personally think they will...no.

Under what circumstance does any coach on any level ever say this? If a coach was to ever say this, he would be immediately fired from his position.

Or, maybe, just maybe, CSU will be thinking that if they can beat us at the Bill they will have an inside track to a conference championship and a bid to the playoffs. It's just possible that may even be their primary motivation, although avenging those losses 6 and 8 years ago is way up there I'm sure.

That's my point with that! If Coach Mills (or as you said pretty ANY coach) said that, if I was the AD Id call him into my office and give him a tongue lashing so bad it'd make your head spin). Coach Mills is going to get his guys ready for this weekend...I just think that LU will once again be his "Waterloo"

Im very aware of that (and Im sure Coach Mills is too).

Lemme use a different matchup as an example...look at Navy and Notre Dame. Now I know that they both are FBS Independent programs (although if that article that was posted in another discussion is true that wont be the case for Notre Dame come 2012) but Notre Dame had beaten the Middies 43 straight years going into their 2007 matchup...dont think that history didnt get talked about with the players and among the players down in Annapolis when it got close to that game on the calendar. Did they roll their eyes when they were reminded of games from before their time? I seriously doubt it...Im sure that if CSU wins this weekend, this will be a high watermark game for them to not only beat a team they havent beaten that often, but to do it in their own stadium and to earn the conference's first ever automotic playoff berth.

I will go with:

CSU 13
LU 49
Attendance 21,000
CSU has improved some over the years but based on their results we should win by at least 2 TD's since it is home and homecoming should attract an overcapacity crowd and I think that will be a factor. LU also remembers the "near miss" from last year where we barely escaped with a W.

They got anihiliated by Hawaii but they did play Wofford tough, who just beat Furman so they have the ability to hang with us if we are not careful and if it is close in the end anything could happen. The wins vs division 2 opponents were not that decisive at all so based on that we should win big.

Something very bad must have happened on downs 1-3 for that to have happened.

That's what I told the crystal ball -- it just said "Ask again later."

not really...for a 45 yard field goal the holder is stationed at the 35 which means it has to have been snapped from about the 27-28 yard line

This year...I really don't want to have to rely on field goals from beyond 30 yds.....Until I can see the special teams can do it in game situations...(which for me to see it they'd have to do it in game situations.....) ugh. Hopefully all the kinks have been worked out!!!
