And they just beat Gardner Webb. In just their 2nd year of existence, they would challenge for the Big South championship. I'm not sure if that's more kudos to them or an embarrassment for the Big South.

CCU did just fine their first few years, no? This is usually how it works.

CCU and ODU are apples and oranges. ODU is in a hotbed of talent. They already have one of the best athletic programs in the CAA, why would football (eventually) be any different? They'll be competing for CAA championships in as little as 5 years. Maybe sooner.

i've been thinking the same thing.. they've beatean VMI Presby and GWU now...arguably the 3 worst teams in the league but still the second year of the program that's kind of scary. They also lost 24-21 to William and Mary as well. If we end upw ith them on the schedule as is rumored, it will def. be a tough opp.

BSC representin' in top 2 of 3. Nice to see. I'm sure that G-W matchup was a boost to ODU's normal numbers.

What is interesting to note is that 5 of the top 8 in attendance are newcomers (some more new than others) to FCS. The established powers are suddenly looking at new faces drawing much better than established programs. Even though we've been I-AA for quite awhile, our growth is certainly raising eyebrows.

The NCAA posted this right? There's a bolded line at 20K. It's just a theory, but I could see that line being some part of the new standards for moving up.

EDIT - There's a bolded line after the 5th row in each of the pages. Probably a typo.
