I found this article very interesting about what the CAA schools pay there head coaches and it looks like Curry, Keeler, and Matthews head up the list. The other CAA teams that are state universities are presented but this doesn't include the private colleges such as Villanova and Richmond. Other teams such as App State, Delaware State, and Montana were mentioned, I guess for reference. Not exactly sure where Coach Rocco rates with this list and my guess he would be in the middle somewhere. Maybe private colleges can't disclose that information. Oh well, I thought that the article was interesting.

Not necessarily for private schools but non-profits have to disclose their top 5 list on a particular tax form that is made public. We just found that one from like 4 years ago. I may go looking for an updated form to post here but I'd rather check this thread a little later to find that somebody already did it.

Thanks for nothing guys. This is the most recent Form 990 that I could find. It was listed as 2009 and it was signed in late 2009 despite being a 2008 form. I guess I was wrong about top 5, since there's 7 listed.

I cringe when I see these things posted....seems like a violation of privacy even though I know its not being a nonprof

A couple of interesting things.

1. Mickey Matthews should be pretty ticked. Nobody else must want him so they can get away with that.
2. I think it's funny that AD Jeff Barber is listed as "Mr. Jeff Barber".

It's a 43 page pdf and there's a lot more cringe-worthy pages despite the fact that nothing is wrong or anything. Like donation/donor info and profits.

It's the same as anyone else filing taxes. When you file taxes on April 15, 2010, you're filing for your 2009 income. Same deal.

If I'm not mistaken, the five highest paid employees, five highest paid contractors and key executives must have their salaries listed. If I'm not mistaken, you may also translate the line on the 990 that says "Revenue less expenses" to "annual profit", though it can't be called that and there are rules for what can be done with it. So it's not 100% equivalent. Still interesting, though. As are the net asset and liability lines.

Right, obviously a nonprofit can't have profit. I guess we can call it profit*.

When Danny leaves we can hire Mickey Matthews at double his salary!

It's about time we gave Mickey a RAISE! Heck Matt Brady gets just as much money as he does! (and I love Matt Brady, but he simply isn't on MM's level yet)
