No doubt this was a tough loss, but not totally unexpected. Going on the road after a huge road win would be tough enough. Having JMU looming around the corner on top of it just made it that much more difficult. Still, LU should've beat a team like Robert Morris, but things like this happen often.

As for Alan York, I think he has a great radio voice and has done a solid job so far. But it's evident not even he is above making mistakes or misspeaking.

I think I'm going to start betting on our games. The week leading up to the BSU game, I had a really good feeling about the game. I really thought we would win. As this past week went on, I got more and more uncomfortable with this game. I still thought we would win, but I knew it would be tight. When I woke up yesterday morning, I had this sick feeling in my gut that we were gonna lose.

manson...i love ya brother, but playing bobby mo is much better than playing a D2. you can recruit well despite a loss. any recruit there saw our fanbase, and though we lost saw our brand of football. i tell you what, there will several bobby mo players i would like to have on our squad. Bobby Mo has had a solid program that has been down, but is on the way back. i would rather play ans NEC school that the west va. wesleyan's and glenville states of the world.

It has been interesting to see what people had to say during the first couple of minutes of our loss. As a Liberty Alums and flame fans, I have never seen so many cry babies and people who ready were ready throwing coach Rocco and his D-coordinator under the bus to fast it made my head spin. I was only able to look at CS.com for a quick second and I had to run and do other things that is why I am responding so late.

First of all, think before you say and weigh out all the information first before we go out crying over a scrap on out knee (RMU loss). I say it as a scrape on the knee because that is all it is and it should be taken that way.I know that I will be criticized for calling it that but it hurt us but it is a wake up call and we need to regroup and refocus. I know it is a disheartening loss to a perceived inferior team from the NEC but hey they were more motivated, disciplined, and hungry for this game than we were. This is reflected in the 30-23 score at the end of the game. Please don't throw Coach Rocco, Clark, and even streeter under the bus. It is not totally their fault. It fault of the team and staff collectively.

There definitely were some crappy game calling on the defense side of the ball, then again the offensive formations the defense should have adjusted and changed their formation and coverage depending on the look they were getting from the offense. On the offensive side of the ball man that is another problem in itself. Where do I start? I have been so frustrated with out offense this year. What ever happened to our high octane offense, that when it is firing and combustion on all four cylinders it seems almost unstoppable in the past? Mike and the rest of the offense have not been clicking seems that there has been lack of chemistry between them. We have not been able to get a consistent passing game going and many of our receivers dropped and fumbled way to many passes this weekend. This is absurd and lacks the basic fundamentals of football like protecting and keeping possession of the football. We have not been able to run the ball period. This concerns me because of our power running football roots that we have and make us one dimensional as a team with Mike running and throwing the ball and the rest of the offense needs to pick their load and take it off Mike's shoulders. I feel like a team as a whole on the defense and offense there is so much potential but all of these talents need to be be synchronized with each other not as individuals and collectively come together light up the score board, sack someone, tackle for a loss, force a fumble, intercept and finally win and get into and win some post season wins.

I am just as disappointed as everyone else and it there has been a trend of this in the last couple of years with Presby, Stony Brook, and now RMU. We need to get out #@$% together and win this season in a fashion that we have in the last couple of BS championships and ruin other teams seasons like we did with Elon. Man I hate those Dukes with a passion sorry I got a lil and I know that it feels like I am and but I am ready to go out there the Dukes of JMU with a lil malice for all that crap they have been posting on the CAA zone. Boasting about that epic tech win but lets bring them back down to earth.

Wow! Seems my observations hit a raw nerve. Sorry if I offended you. After scanning FF last week, I had the impression he was really good. So, I was disappointed when I actually got to listen. I think having the video made it more clear. My expectations were probably too high. He's fine as a big south level announcer. I think he did a nice job reporting scores from other games.

There is no need to sit here and bash the team and the coaches...its 1 loss on the season and everyone is quick to turn and doubt the team...the team will learn from its mistakes and we must trust rocco and the staff to get it fixed...as far as players...there seems to be a few injuries that could cost us..ervin garner with separated shoulder and foot? stadler possible broken ribs? mayo with a concussion, mike brown got hit a good amt of times yesterday as well...as for bevins smooth...he has missed 4 kicks and 3 of those have been from 50+ which are not gimmes even in the nfl...it was good to see him knock down 3 fg yesterday including the game tying kick with 1:15 left to boost some confidence. Guys this is a time to support the team even more not just bash and predict the team to lose...

I made the trip up to RMU and what a tough loss it was. Here's my .02

1- RMU came out with intensity and were ready to play. Our guys really didn't look that energized at the beginning of the game. Of course, our fans didn't help b/c we weren't cheering very loud

2- Coach Walton and staff had his team ready for our offense. They were covering our receivers very well and putting pressure on the QB. There were a number of times where Mike had to throw the ball away or run for a few yards b/c there was no one open to throw to.

3- The defense didn't play as well as they have in the past 2 games. #3 ran all over us. Also, I was very disappointed in our secondary. With all of the speed we've been hearing about, I expected a lot more from those guys.

4- The offense didn't come out as fast as they did at Ball State, which was disappointing. Passing game wasn't as sharp as it could be. A couple of balls were off, a few were thrown away, there were a few drops, and a few that should have been caught that weren't. Running Game. We don't have one. Rocco is going to need to figure something out over the next 5 days. We heard so much about these guys potential, but no one has yet to set themselves apart. If we cant get any yardage on the ground at JMU, we could be in big trouble.

The positive is that the season is not over. There is time and opportunity to improve and the Big South Championship is still out there to win. This team has a lot of potential, they just have to keep working hard and keep their heads up. I really liked this quote from Mike in Lang's article today: “There are lessons learned every week. Sometimes this is what it takes to get you back down to Earth. This goes back and humbles us. You can’t take anything for granted. You’ve got to come out each and every week. At Liberty, we’re going to get everybody’s best shot. You’ve got to expect that.”

let's hope the team can get focused and shake off this loss and prepare for JMU this week.

Just got home after driving 36 hours round trip to see Liberty play at RMU. It was a very disappointing game to say the least. No regrets for making the trip- still a big FLAMES Fan!
I agree that a win next weekend will help all forget the pain of this loss. Looking forward to JMU- and yes, I'm driving again!

That's where we're going to get in to trouble. The purpose in shifting to a 3-3-5 base was to better play the pass because we've had the ability to stuff the run with 6 guys the last few years. We got beat several times on Saturday and that's cause for concern.

If we have to cheat up to play the run, all the sudden we're looking real thin in the back 5.

Everyone's worried about our lack of run game, could it be that Mike is just calling his own number a little too often? We had, what, maybe 17 carries between the two backs? That's really not gonna get it done, especially when they only had a few carries last week. The announcers kept stressing over and over again that the Flames really wanted to use this game to get their running attack going, but it just wasn't reflected in the play-calling.

One semi-positive comment about this game. If you had to pick one game to lose (and given the last few years that seems to be the case) this would be my choice. It's not the opener, it's not the FBS game, or the CAA game at JMU, and most importantly it's not a BS conference game, which means it has no bearing on us making the post season.

I don't know, but he has the ball, so it's his option to run. Our running backs are spending a LOT of time blocking.
