No, we're going to drop. We lost to a limited scholly team that lost to a non scholly team. We're out.

Honestly, who cares at this point. Besides JMU. Let's secure the autobid this year. See what damage we can do in the playoffs and build on that.

I missed the game and was very shocked to see the result and don't really know the details or do I care to hear them right now. After what we did the 1st 2 games I didn't think that a loss to RMU was remotely possible. Probably worse than what happened at Presby 2 years ago. I am sure that we will bounce back from this embarrasement and give JMU a good game but not sure how we are going to accomplish that considering what happened today but anything is possible but we have shown at times an ability to come back and play well after a bad loss. I guess now is the time to "suck it up" and see how the rest of the season will shape up and it all starts with JMU.

So i find myself agreeing with TTL here (for what, maybe the 1st or 2nd time in the history of the universe?)... that was an embarrassing game. no excuse for it.

On the flip side, RMU played well. They hung in there and got the job done. Congrats to them and their fans. RMU guys thanks for coming to the board, hope you guys have a great rest of the season.

LU had better get their heads out of their butts or they wont even win the big south.

Make sense of this:

Liberty 52
St. Francis 7

St. Francis 41
Sacred Heart 0

Sacred Heart 31
Robert Morris 35

Robert Morris 30
Liberty 23

I guess since SH didn't actually beat RMU it's not AS crazy, but you've got to wonder how SH puts up 31 points on them vs us barely squeeking out 23 when they couldn't even put up 3 points against St. Francis.

Just as we were getting the site back up & running some little girl from LU happened to call to see if we were coming to Homecoming. Still riding the motions from the end of the game, when she asked how I was doing I replied, "I don't think I'm going to be sick much longer." After a few seconds of awkward silence she replied, "Um, OK. I am actually with Liberty University and ..." to which I cut her offand asked if she was OK. After another awkward pause, I made the wise assertion that she must not have seen the game. She hadn't seen final score. After telling her I said we would be driving up from Texas and that I had to get back to FlameFansshe sheepishly stuttered before I thanked her for calling & said Bye. I wonder if she still understands what happened on that call. Poor girl. Somebody should be passing on football scores to call center.

We have a tradition of losing when we shouldn't. Why stop this year! I was pretty disappointed, but now I don't care so much since I've become accustomed to this kind of letdown. Better early in the season than late. We need to move on and take care of business next week, and even more importantly, in the conference. GW, Coastal, and SB are all capable of beating us.

I'm not mad, but certainly disappointed with the result today. Let's face it. We laid a Tech today! It's games like this one that separate the great teams from the good ones. Our expectations were that we had a great team and that team didn't show up today. I am looking forward to seeing what kind of resolve this team has and how we come back next week. I think we were exposed in several areas today on offense and defense and will need to work hard in the coming days to get ready for next week. Let's go Flames!!!!!

whenever you need a blown coverage, look for kajuan lee. That guys is a big play waiting to happen for the opposing receiver. I have had enough of watching a defense that can't hold, just like stony brook last year. The offense goes down the field and does it's job then the defense folds. I've seen enough of the 3/4 defense and it's gaping holes. I'm done with it!

We need to play above ourselves to beat anyone left on the schedule!!! With that statement Rogers3, I agree that the Big South schedule will not be a pushover and we are not an automatic choice for the automatic bid!! We are the favorites, so everyone will be gunning for us. But our "tradition" as you call it, shows that we MUST get motivated and overly prepared for EVERY game. No room for let-downs.

Motivation is a tricky monster. Pep talks to whole teams don't always cut it. It often takes one-on-ones with individual players to challenge that one person to change his perspective and see the real deal and give that extra that will be needed. Each one needs to be reminded not to let it be HIS play be the kind that lets the team down, or costs the game.

Pick your heads up, prepare hard, play hard and GO FLAMES.

No one else is going to say it, so I will. Mike Brown was missing targets left and right out there today. I'm not suggesting we bench him or anything, but it would be interesting to see some Tyler in certain situations with MB split out wide or in the slot.

They brought Tyler in for a couple of snaps, but what did they do??? Throw it wide out to Mike Brown. DUH?? Even I know that is coming. Tyler can throw to other receivers. . . and it might not seem so obvious!!!!

Didn't he start out 9/9? Maybe they adjusted. And then we didn't counter.

okay everyone. i've calmed down. got some food in me. little more relaxed. i'm done being a drama queen over this game. this sort of thing happens every year and not just to us. yes it's disappointing and it never should have happened but it did. I think we can count on an opening round game in the playoffs i don't see us getting a bye. but hey i still see us winning the big south and putting on a good show. if we make the playoffs then that's just one more step forward. it'll be okay. let's refocus, calm down, and go give a good show up at JMU.

That is a good way of looking at it. I would rather lose today's game then get beat by anyone in the Big South. If we do beat JMU we will totally forget about what happened to us today.

Exactly, we beat JMU and this loss is completely forgotten.

if we can beat JMU I think today will show how much of a trap game it really was. What's more likely to be the fluke:
a win over ball st and JMU or
a loss at RMU

The only thing keeping us out of the playoffs this year is losing the BS. Other games won beyond that are just icing on the cake.

1. The Steelers play the 3-4 and have lead the NFL in rushing defense forever. It's the quality of linebackers neing the key.

2. This game has been talked about since June (by coaching staff) as a "must win". They heard it all week. I wonder if they played to not lose. Thought they looked tight. Just a thought.

I'm looking forward to seeing the Flames in action at JMU. Good teams pick themselves up from a loss and learn from their mistakes. We have a great season ahead.
