My travel arrangements have been awful for catching this show. Same goes for this evening en route the New Orleans. Somebody give those of us missing it a recap later this evening.

I'll be airborne during the show. But a quick recap of the highlights would be great. There should be a great crowd at Doc's, I would assume.

Not a whole lot to mention. Eric Fath tore his ACL and is out for the year. Nick Sigmon is being redshirted and Coach thinks he will be a really good player for us and "start for multiple years."

The game Saturday is more about us than RMU.

Did they get any calls last night?

i want to give credit where credit is due, and i was given an explanation on the e-mails. Alan was given handwritten summaries of the e-mails due to account login issues. that was very professional of him to do that and he did not have to reply. everyone should get behind the show and either call, e-mail, or go to doc's diner. GO FLAMES!

No calls...a couple questions in house and a couple emails...if it was a two hour show I think they could get more audience interaction (personal opinion)

One hour show is plenty. It's not like Rocco's sitting around twiddling his thumbs all week

I agree!

Two hour show on Monday for just sports - we can call that Liberty RAW
Two hour show on Tuesday for Freshman - we can call the Liberty NXT
Two hour call in show on Friday where listeners can voice their opinion - we can call that Liberty SMACKDOWN

That might work - to do it as part of the pre-game show on Saturdays when people who care about Liberty football are tuning in. If no one is calling, they must not have much of an audience right now. Would that be fair to say?

When I was on campus, the coaches show was always a good excuse to go to Docs, listen to coach, give him a handshake, and get a midweek football fix. I like the current set-up.

The only thing that I think could be a good change is to move it to lunch time. Yes, there are problems with that (press conference time, could be seen as competition to the Flames Club luncheon, etc) but I think you'd get more people listening and more people showing up live. People are at home at 7pm and aren't as likely to listen to the radio/internet stream as they are while they're at work. Second, people aren't as likely to take their kids to a radio call-in show to eat but they'd meet up with some friends for lunch while the kids are in school.

With that being said, I agree completely with TTL. It was a fun hour for students who were fans.

I guess I like the current show but It would be fun if they had a 30min or 1hr call in show before the game. No Rocco (cuz you prob couldn't get him then anyways) just get Nick or someone else knowledgeable to host it and take calls.

It would be the perfect thing to listen to as your grilling.

That completely takes away the point for the call in show. The point of the call in show is for fans to be able to ask the coach questions. It's a great invention whoever first came up with it years ago. I love it. During lunch time, I wouldn't be able to listen. Without Coach, there'd be no point to listen in. They already have a 2 hour pregame starting this year. That's perfect to listen to while tailgating.

1.5 hrs this would be the front part to drag it out to 2 hrs before the game. Call ins work all the time with fans just calling in about questions and comments. Its kinda like all of us on here except a call in show where people just a little to excited about LU football can be heard.

I did 3-hour pregame shows & 2-hour postgame radio shows for the Texans. It is not that tough to fill the time if you get a few callers.

Oh, cool - so it is designed more for the students? Didn't realize. I was thinking it was more for the central Va community. About how many students go to Docs to be part of it each week?

By the way, I am sure they know what they are doing. Like someone said, every college has a call-in show. They are great because they connect with the average fan (of course, with all of the online resources these days, most everyone can get their inside info on-demand instead of tuning in at a certain time, etc..."FlameFans" is a prime example), but it remains a good connecting point for the mass audience. I am sure that as Liberty continues to win and more of the community gets involved, the audience will grow and it will produce calls, etc...Interesting to think about - especially when there are no calls...and, it is a call-in show...

No one calls in now so there's no demand to push a second show. If we were getting so many calls that we had to put people on hold then that'd be one thing but we're not getting anywhere near that many calls.

I've called in a couple times, but lately haven't been able to catch it at 7 pm

way too much stuff going on w/ the kids at that hour- and many nights I'm working.

obviously, thats MY problem- but likely one shared by many others.

It has been travel issues for me the first couple of weeks. But it is an hour earlier here in the Central Time Zone and Mrs. Sly frowns greatly on me slipping away from the dinner table to call.
