I'd get the ticket before securing a ride. I have a feeling that ticket will sell with ease. Keep in mind when we arrive up there it will be their first game since taking down VT. Their fans will be a frenzy.

Buy the ticket and carpool with someone. Theres going to be a caravan meeting at docs diner at 3pm on that day and you can jump in with someone. I'd take you but I've already got a full truck

According to a poster on JMU message board, Liberty will be giving some of our tickets back. How could we NOT sell all of our allotment with a game that's in such short driving distance? I hope this isn't true because it would be pretty disappointing.

its very disappointing. I've been recruiting wherever I go haha. I've got 3 people to go who didn't plan on it.

its a long process...just wait till both upper decks are done and 25k JMU fans are yelling on 4th down... ;)

I am not trying to talk trash in anyway, just curious:

if you have not sold 1,000 tickets total to this game yet how do you expect to fill 30,000 seats for home games in a couple years?
#15 vs #3 right after jmu beat tech and you beat a MAC team and after jmu barely pulled a W out at your place last year only 2 hours up the road?

I will be very disappointed if there are not 1000+ flames there next weekend.

And on a friendly note - to the person who posted a caravan of people is leaving lynchburg at 3...that is only 3 hours before kickoff...if you hit any traffic at all you will miss the kickoff...leave earlier and come tailgate and have fun.

That was my 1st reaction to the caravan as well, DukeDawg.

As for our ability to eventually put 30k in Williams Stadium, it is an apples & oranges discussion. Comparing how well we travel to Bridgeforth reallly has little bearing on filling our own crib. Flip it around and ask how JMU will fill a 42k stadium based on how well you guys travelled to Lynchburg last fall.

Free tickets and free t-shirts.

Our students haven't learned to pay for anything.

I'm pretty sure the tickets are sold to any student or alumni now not just flames club members. And the caravan idea came from an email I got. I'll get ANOTHER free shirt, free (third) flag for my truck, an audio cd and highlight dvd. That's for anyone actually driving in the caravan. Everyone gets a free shirt. I don't know who exactly is heading it up but the email was sent to everyone in the flames club.

For away games, you only sell to Flames Club members. It is a benefit of being a member. It also keeps JMU fans from purchasing single game tickets from Liberty unless they purchase a Flames Club membership. If you consider yourself to be a fan of the Flames, you should be a member.

Correct me if I'm wrong.....I remember SFC members getting priority for purchasing away game tickets, but anyone can buy a ticket.

Okay here's how it wen't down. At first yes, ONLY flames club members could purchase the tickets. but JUST RECENTLY when they dropped the price to $10 they made the tickets available to anyone with a connection to LU because they had only sold 1000 tickets and there were still 1000 left. They did this in hopes of selling the rest of the 1000 so the tickets don't go back to JMU. only 2 days left until the tickets do in fact go back so tell everyone you know to get there $10 dollar ticket for the game!!!!

According to the announcement on the LU spash page, tickets are $22 & the meal is $10.
Tickets are $22/person. You can purchase pre-game meals provided by the Flames Club for $10 for adults and $5 for youth ages 6-12. Children 5 and under are free with the purchase of an adult meal.

considering the weather that occurred that day (so bad that imo it was not safe to travel home and I stayed over night in a friends dorm), I'd say we turned out pretty well.

As an alumni...yes. Jury is out on the SFC. There's a reason the majority of members are freshman.
