I commend the boy for sticking to his guns and sticking with the choice that is the right one for him. He wants to follow the path the lord has set for Josh. Good for him!

I think this verbal is pretty locked in...I mean when a 1-A/FBS program comes calling and a kid turns them down you can just about take that one to the bank. Would you feel any different if it was...CIncinnati or Virginia Tech or even Nebraska who had offered him and he turned them down to keep his commit to us?

I think the concerns remain that both UVa & VT are evaluating him this fall and he could get a late offer. That would be a bigger concern. But still, turning down an ACC scholarship shows he means business about coming to LU.

The Demon Deacons have put a nice class together so far, but they are still looking for a quarterback. One of the most recent offers is Roanoke (VA) Cave Spring dual-threat quarterback Josh Woodrum who is currently committed to Liberty. He spoke with Deacons Illustrated about how the new offer will affect his recruitment.

VirginiaPreps.com wrote:Another prospect making his first appearance in our Top 100 ranking has already decided on his college destination. Josh Woodrum a 6-foot-3 quarterback from Cave Spring High School in Roanoke is ranked number 49. Woodrum gave a verbal commitment to Liberty University earlier this year and despite a recent offer from Wake Forest has reaffirmed his allegiance to the Flames.

Cave Spring has been doing very well this year. They dominated Salem a few weeks ago and beat Blacksburg thanks to 123 yards and 2 TDs from Josh. Nothing indicating he is backing out of his commitment though if that is what you were asking about BYD

i work in roanoke and i hear several people connected with the football program at cave spring say he's a very solid verbal. That being said if Tech gets involved I'm sure he will probably listen so Cave's otehr best player is already headed there. I dont know my gut feeling and everythign else I here leads me to believe he'll be here in the fall. I went to that Salem game and this kid is a stud, moves well with teh ball, throws well on the run. He could put some more weight on and really be a big time QB for us in the future.
