:jawdropper This one kind of surprises me. Normally, I would get to see Warren County when they play Sherando, but Warren County got shipped out of the Northwestern District and into the Evergreen Disctrict, while their Front Royal counterparts Skyline stays in the Northwestern. It surprises me because Warren County is absolutely TERRIBLE in football! I can't fathom any kid in that program playing on the next level. Maybe I'll just have to go see Warren Co. play when Sherando is away now. My neighbor across the street also happens to be an assistant coach for Warren Co., so I'll have to see his take on this kid and report back.

OK. Just talked to my neighbor and Luke Pingley does indeed play for Skyline and not Warren County, so I will get to see him in action this season. My neighbor is the OL and head freshman coach for Warren County and seemed to have a good impression of Pingley. He said that the kid is "huge" and "has never been a jerk". Apparently, Luke has a younger brother that's going to be just as big. LU could have an OL/DL pipeline coming out of Skyline High School in Warren County, Virginia!

How much does Dwight Freeney weigh? I will say that if he came in as a D-end he could be a speed rush kind of end (although he could stand to add a few pounds which under Coach Gillespie should not be a problem)

FRONT ROYAL -- It wasn't the most enthralling of ceremonies -- just a dozen or so of Luke Pingley's closest friends and family assembled in the Skyline gym as the Hawks senior signed his national letter of intent to play football at Liberty University.

The feeling, however, of knowing that he still has four or five more years of football left in his future -- he hopes to redshirt next season -- was completely gratifying for Pingley.

Pingley Update

I waited on a customer a couple days ago that came in wearing a Skyline baseball polo. I asked him about Luke. This customer advised me that Luke is having a successful baseball season and has really packed on the weight and bulked up since the end of football season. This guy told me that Luke cannot fit into baseball pants. Not much, but thought some of your might appreciate this tidbit.
