LU Men's Tennis Announces Addition
August 13, 2010
Lynchburg, Va.
Liberty Head Coach Chris Johnson has announced that David Kwon will join the men’s tennis team for the upcoming 2010-11 academic year. Kwon has enrolled as a graduate student at Liberty this year.

Kwon, a native of Springfield, Va., joins the Flames’ roster after competing at Maryland from 2006-09. During his time with the Terrapins, he played in the top of half of their line-up in singles and at No. 1 doubles, compiling over 60 victories.

While at Laurel High School, Kwon was ranked among the top five in nation, while winning the Gator Bowl and Peach State Classic tournaments and the St. Louis Gateway Championships.

"We are very excited to have David coming to play his last year at Liberty,” stated Johnson. “His tennis resume speaks for itself. He will no doubt make an immediate impact in the top of our men's line-up."

This is a great pick-up. He has a win over Dominic Inglot of UVA. For those who don't know, Inglot was the #1 Division I tennis player in the country in the recent past.

Coach Johnson has done a great job recruiting, and as the results play out on court we'll continue to see impressive recruits coming to Liberty, some from America and others from around the world, and hopefully their time here will help improve their game but more importantly their spiritual walk with Christ, allowing them to take the gospel back home with them or wherever they go in the future.
