Weren't we higher last year?

Also, I think people put WAY too much stock in these types of rankings. They appear to be based off admission rates, etc...which says nothing about the actual quality of education received. Just b/c its hard to get into a school doesn't mean its hard to graduate.

Isn't this set of rankings based on student input? Maybe not, but I thought that's what I read.

If you look deeper, you'll see the 6 year rate is 45%.

So, it seems we have a lot of undergrad students who either change majors, or they don't want to leave :cough BJ :cough

26% and 45% doesn't seem that great. But when compared to the national average...still not that great.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Education_ ... ted_States

"There are 4,352 colleges, universities, and junior colleges in the country.[43] In 2008, 36% of enrolled students graduated from college in four years. 57% completed their undergraduate requirements in six years, at the same college they first enrolled in.[44] The U.S. ranks 10th among industrial countries for percentage of adults with college degrees.[5]"

It also factors in online students. Which, we know there are a lot of them that sign up, but for whatever reasons, never finish. Looking at some of the other high population schools (Arizona State), we're not that far off from their rates.

That's the trade off of listing a high student population.....you're going to go down in graduation rates.

And even at #609, that still puts us in the top 25% of all colleges.

In LU's case, I'm sure at least some of those 6 year students are still looking for their "ring before spring" or someone to give it to. Most of those people just can't take a hint.

Also remember, a school like LU experiences a lot of students leaving/transferring because of the nature of the school (because it's Christian and all that comes with that). And online students can take years to finish, so unless the graduation rate excludes part-time students, that would factor in as well.

would you guys feel better if we were graduating every retard who walked on campus? I mean you complain about how we accept even the stupidest of people and then you're embarrassed when we don't give them a diploma?

QFT.

I don't mind accepting anyone, but I do have problems graduating everyone.

Well ideally we would accept only bright intelligent students and graduate brighter more intelligent students. 8)

Well that would rule out about half the people that post on here. ...Waiting for the firestorm of laughs and the tsunami of outrage...

I had to look up what pejorative meant.

I work in student ministry. We don't know what those words mean.
