Shooting Range Open For Business

Lynchburg-area gun owners say it's about time they have a place to go shoot their guns.

A new indoor firing range opened this week just across the city line in Campbell County. In its second day open, it's already drawing a crowd.

Word is quickly spreading throughout the gun-owning community, and we have a big one here. They say it's great to have a place where they can do what they love.

Since they couldn't seem to find the space to mention it in the article, the new range is on Sunburst, almost at the intersection with Waterlick (you can actually see it from 460).

Newspapers in 2010.....They write the article because they need to fill space in the daily rag. They only add the pertinent information about local businesses if the business chooses to advertise. If they do advertise, then they roll out the red carpet in the articles. Newspapers are a dying business model and it is only a matter of time until they disappear.

All true, but this was WSET. They are even worse about giving pertinent information than the N&A.

 I did not read that, but the principle still applies.

Sorry, this is ridiculous.

Well, there will be no shooting range in Wyndhurst:
http://www2.newsadvance.com/news/2010/a ... ar-422845/
The Lynchburg Planning Commission rejected a measure Wednesday that would make it possible for an indoor shooting range to operate in Wyndhurst.

Although commissioners voted to support a zoning amendment that will allow indoor ranges into certain business/industrial zones by permit, they excluded Wyndhurst from the list of eligible areas.

I went to the new one. It's really nice. If you have your own gun, you can shoot your own ammo & all you pay is for the lane ($10/hr).

If you have to rent a gun, it's only $10, but you have to buy their ammo....& that's where they get you. Ended up around $45 for the lane, gun (Glock 22), ammo, & targets for an hour. A lot of fun, though.
