Two different ways of thinking. I completely see your point and if I were in your situation I'd probably go to the opener.

If you're gonna do this, you should probably ask how long it takes the person to get to Lynchburg as well.

I can't make to any of the home games this year cuz my work keeps me from going to any this year. My brother plays at Cal Poly so I wiill be at the Montana vs.CalPoly in San Luis obispo and they go on th road for six weeks. That game will be on sept 11. That going to be one of the only weekends I get off. Next year I will have my time on my hands and iwill make the stony brook game at the end of the year. If we make it to the playoffs i will probably go to the first playoff game next year.

I'll say 18,590

I think as our program continues to improve and grow, we'll start seeing more people from across the region coming to LU football games. There will always be some people who wont attend soley for what school stands for (or it's percieved polarizing climate) but I think most folks will want to come just to see a good football game.

Alright, Add that too. And is it an overnight stay or Daytrip?

For the record, it is 20+ hours of driving and as much as I'd love to be there, I am figuring that by homecoming everything should be completed so my crew will get to see the finished product hopefully in front of a standing room only crowd vs. the Bucs.

Lynchburg & Roanoke both have airports, Sly.

It costs too much money to fly these days and too many hastles at checkin.

I am going to guess that we draw about 17K but could be higher depending on how much hype we create or how much we promote it outside of LU students. The lack of a quality opponent would be the main reason for not selling out. Now if we played JMU, W&M, or Richmond we would definately sell out.

I'm only going to get to homecoming this year -- 5 1/2 hour drive. Spending money this summer on the Master's, and having to get classes done so I can student teach in the spring, means I'm limited this season. I'd planned on going to Ball State (only about 3 hour drive), but that's my son's birthday party. I could convince him and the wife to head to Indiana, and the daughter would come 'cause she had to, but the rest of the relations wouldn't understand.

That will, of course, change when we get our home playoff game. I will be there for that one (and the one after that, if applicable).

Not to a soon-to-be four year old who is already planning what kind of cake he wants. I may end up dressing up like Spiderman or Batman for this one ....

That's a learned behavior. I was never taught it, so I never had that power. You'd have to know my dad!

Wrong Portsmouth. I was referring to the one where Phoenix hangs along the Ohio River.
Ahh...you had me excited there for a minute Sly

When I first saw Portsmouth I figured he meant Portsmouth, VA (which would mean he would have been in my neck of the woods as well as 01LUGrad) 757 refers to the area code that covers Portsmouth, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Virginia Beach, Suffolk Newport News and Hampton, VA
