Cider Jim wrote:This is a little off topic, but it is voting related. When I was walking into Convo today, there were dozens of students passing out pamphlets and trying to talk to you about voting. One girl, right by the door, was shouting, "Vote! This election is more important than the presidential election!"She probably meant to say basically that the local elections have much more of a routine effect on the lives of voters than do the national elections. Poor choice of words though, and perception of that fact is to be expected from an English prof. Well done!
I thought, "Really? Is a local food tax really more important than who is the leader of our country, the leading super power in the free world?" Wow.
