Just so you guys know, Siim Tuus is our freshman #1 on the men's tennis team and was named the Big South Player of the Week after defeated TWO nationally ranked opponents this weekend (#80 Ivan Saalec from Radford and #119 Keizel Juneau from W&M).

This weekend will be a big one for men's tennis, we can clinch the #1 seed if we beat Winthrop and Gardner-Webb in addition to having the regular season championship. GO FLAMES!!!!

I'll be honest ... when I first saw the title of the thread I thought one of the spammers had slipped through the cracks.

I guess I need to be paying closer attention to this team.

Very impressive considering we've never been strong in this sport and have shared coaches w/ the ladies.

Great turn-around

Really Sly, you should brush up on your Estonian. And yes, you should pay more attention.

Medic, both programs have been getting stronger every year since Coach Johnson was brought in.

I think having one coach for men's and women's tennis is pretty much standard at our level. Coaching just 2 teams is child's play when you look at what Tolsma does.

Presbyterian, Radford, and Coastal all have different coaches for their men's and women's teams, as did Birmingham-Southern. Mid-majors tend to be split 50/50 for having separate coaches. Also, while Tolsma does coach 2 teams for CC, indoor and outdoor track and field, he also has a ton of assistants and GAs helping him as well. The tennis programs currently do not have a full time assistant.

Yes I know Tolsma has a lot of very good help running all of those programs Atrain, and no doubt delegates a lot. It's still pretty impressive, especially when you look at how successful they have been. I've heard nothing but good things about coach Johnson, and it looks like all his hard work is bearing fruit this year.
