Liberty Christian transfer Turner looking to take TJ by storm

Jordan Turner had only been at Thomas Johnson for two weeks, but he made quite an early impression. On his first day at his new school, the 6-foot-2, 190-pound safety, who transferred from Liberty Christian in Lynchburg, Va., was already in the weight room pumping iron.

"With him moving up here he hadn't trained in a bout a month, but the very first day he really went after it," said Thomas Johnson coach Ben Wright. "I can already tell he works real hard. He's been pretty quiet, but he's got that 'eye of the tiger' look. He's pretty intense from what I can tell."

Rivals has given a 2-star rating.

Incidentally you may have seen him around campus the past week or so. He is good friends with LCA LB Ray Jones and he stayed down in Lynchburg to be there for him following the horrific accident that took Ray's mom & brother.

Maybe...but often times players will go to prep school in order to draw some looks from a lot more D-I FBS level programs (or high D-I FCS). A lot of the coaches know that you can get some pretty solid talent from those schools (and some coaches send recruits to those schools to get themselves squared away academically as well...)

Nomad? Not quite. Looking to earn a schollie at a school where he can thrive for 4 years? Yes. Academics? Solid, qualified.

Jordan going to prep school brings some BCS schools back into play for him but he really desires to come home and play in front of family for 4 years. So, we will see.

The coaches their see him as a D-1 talent now he gets a chance to prove it . Milford Prep plays a D-1AA javee schedule, so he will get to see quickly what he is suited for, cause the film won't lie.

rt's right...for good players prep schools, like Milford, Hargrave, Fork Union and a host of others...prep schools are your last real shot at getting a look from D-I programs...if he doesnt do well there, his options are going to be pretty limited

The thing that bodes well for the young man is that Milford never would have taken him if he did not have the potential to compete at the D-1 level. To quote, the Eagles, Lesean McCoy(Milford Grad) "I came here as a boy and I left as a man."

NEW BERLIN, N.Y. -- Milford Prep Academy is a post-graduate school tucked away in New Berlin, a small town of just over 1,000 people in upstate New York. But in this small town there are big things happening for prep athletes seeking to play Division-I football, including three former Maryland high school stars
