I think he's got his priorities backwards. A degree is a tool to make money. Dude is making more money than 95% of people with degrees. Not everybody needs a college degree.

because no amount of money is worth having his kids see their father without a college degree...

That's just a bunch of romanticism. There is an amount of money that is worth his kids seeing their father without a college degree. It's the same amount that allows you to play a sport for a living and live more than comfortably doing so. Degrees are so overrated. Is a plumber a worse example as a father than Bernie Madoff?

He "started" college as a means to get to the NFL. The NFL is his means to making more money in a couple years than most people see in their lifetime. I don't see how a degree affects any of that nor do I see how it makes him a better father. Unless he's majoring in a discipline that literally helps him be a father.

+1 - he has 3 kids and plans to volunteer around Texam A@M after college. So your telling me the 250k couldn't have been made and donated to help someone...thats priorities. He will have millions of dollars by the end of his football career and can finish the degree at anytime.

I think degrees are highly overrated. Im a Youth pastor and feel like my four years of college were a complete waste and i would have been more prepared for the job had i done a year long internship with a church. Some professions need a degree, Youth Ministry is not one of them.
