My mom took a class called "what the bible says about healthy living" never heard the one fabric clothes thing but i have stopped eating some things cause of stuff she showed me. not just because of what the bible says but also just cause some of it really does make sense.

And you can prove this how?

Yeah, the fabric thing is in Leviticus.

However, I'm with Flamesfilmguy on this one, I very rarely eat pork or shellfish anymore just because of the environment that these animals were designed to be raised in and live in.

However, I would also like to state that even though I do not believe in man-made climate change (I belive in climate change, because history has shown that there are climate shifts from time to time), I do believe in taking care of the environment. I'm in favor of recycling, driving more fuel-efficient cars (cleaner air, reduces dependence on foreign oil- not recommended for snowy, mountainous areas though), improved local and long-distance mass transit especially high speed rail (BTW-if anyone hasn't taken the train from LBurg to DC, I do recommend it. I actually took it beyond DC to Philly to visit friends for a hot tub party one weekend and it was cheaper than driving and not having to deal with traffic), and things like that.

I think he sneaks those things in here every now and then just to make us cringe.
Please, there is nothing wrong with having some beverages and chilling in a hot tub (everyone wearing swimming trunks) with some good people. I can talk about this with a couple friends at work and it doesn't phase them, don't know why ya'll are so uptight about it.

I see your point, but really, it is no more or less of hanging out with friends with similar interests (not limited to sexuality) than when a bunch of straight men gather in "man caves," to watch sports.

Except........we dont call it a "man cave". We call it Buffalo Wild Wings. The only gross scenario possible there is getting a fat ugly waitress.

At the end of the day, it doesn't impact your Christian walk at all if you believe in Old Earth or Young Earth. If he said we don't need to love one another, that's one thing. Let's not act like it's weird or out of place to believe in Old Earth... Dr. DeWitt is VERY smart, but he isn't omniscient. I only know of one being who is, and He isn't faculty at LU. ;-)
His argument for the translation of Genesis 1 looks pretty legit - obviously I havent researched it.

You wouldn't release a book with an argument in it if it wasn't legit.
