Just a week ago after the embarrasment in High Point this would have been hard to believe, but if we can take care of business against Winthrop next Thursday, the Radford game Saturday will be for second place. Realist's protestations aside, we came very close to beating WU in Rock Hill, and I think we are playing better ball now. The Flames are starting to heat up.

If we hold home court against those two tough teams, we'll be EIGHT and FOUR in conference. That's huge. Let's see if this team can step up and get us there.

Wow. UNCA can tie Radford for second place if they can get the win at home, and the way both teams are playing, I have to say their chances are good. Radford's bigs have been everything advertized, but if they don't come up with some semblance of a perimeter game they aren't going to win this thing after being one of the most prohibitive favorites in memory going into the season.

And if WU wins then they will also be in a tie for 2nd place while we'll be a half game back of 2nd place.

All the games should take place because the road teams are all in place, Radford and High Point were in the area here Thursday and no doubt in Asheville and Boiling Springs respectively before the snow hit yesterday. I think UNCA moved the game up to 2 so Radford could get on the road home before dark.

I was still debating going over for the game at G-W tonight, but I just ventured out and the roads tonight will be 100% worse than last evening. Disappointing since G-W was doing their big Samaritans Feet push tonight.

We had a game cancelled under similar circumstances during the last storm, and the Houghton team was in a hotel less than a mile from the Vines. I have a feeling though that with these conference games there will be a greater urgency to get them in as long as lives aren't being placed at risk.

Two teams that play at a slower pace, both solid defensively. And the first meeting was 57-47. I think these two teams would play a game in the 50s most of the time they face each other.

I don't think anyone in the Big South is surprised by this game. Most thought Winthrop could, and likely would, win this game.
